About ACF Extended Plugin
Anyone working with Advanced Custom Fields eventually hits the same wall: the basic fields cover the essentials, but when a client asks for a date range picker, a color picker, a country list or a more comfortable editing screen, you end up with code patches and loose plugins. ACF Extended is an add-on built for that moment.
Why it matters if you build sites with custom fields
A site with custom fields rarely fails for lack of fields: it fails because the panel the client uses becomes awkward. Non-technical editors get lost in long screens, and every tweak you ask a developer for gets expensive. This plugin focuses on improving that admin panel and giving you more control over how fields behave, without having to write everything by hand.
New field types and improvements to existing ones
It adds fields that ACF does not include by default. Among those shown on the product website are a color picker, a date range picker and a country list. It also improves well-known fields, such as flexible content, the Google map, the relationship field and the column layout on screen. To make it worthwhile, think of each field from the editor's point of view: a date range picker keeps someone from typing dates by hand and getting them wrong.

It needs Advanced Custom Fields installed
ACF Extended does not work on its own: it extends Advanced Custom Fields and builds on it. Without ACF there is nothing to improve. In addition, the product website distinguishes features of a PRO version, such as advanced flexible content, the advanced Google map, the advanced relationship field or screen layouts. If one of them matters to you, check in the demo or the documentation first whether it is in the version you will use.
Nor does it replace a developer when the project needs custom logic: it adds tools, but you decide how to display the data on the front end.
