Anyone who runs activities across several rooms, venues or sites usually ends up with the address copied by hand into every event, a map link pasted months ago and no page to send an attendee who just asks where it is. Events come and go, but the venue repeats, and it is what the audience remembers and searches for.
Advanced Location Addon for MEC turns each location in Modern Events Calendar into a page of its own, with its map and its events, instead of leaving it as a loose detail inside each event.
One page per venue: what changes depending on who you are
If you run a venue with its own programme
Your room or centre is the star, and visitors want to see what is on now and what is coming. The location page gathers its events in list or grid view and can show the ones in progress.
If you organise at third-party venues
Every time you take an event to a theatre, a hotel or a coworking space, attendees need to know how to get there. With one page per place, the map and the details can live in a single spot.
If you have several venues and want a directory
You can publish all the locations on a single page, in list or grid view, so visitors choose a venue before choosing an event. It helps when people decide by proximity rather than by the name of the activity.
Lists, maps and featured venues in Advanced Location Addon for MEC
- Individual page per location: each place has its own, separate from the rest.
- List of all locations: on a single page, as a list or as a grid.
- Map: the location map can be shown in both the list view and the grid view.
- Events of each place: you show them through shortcodes, including the ones in progress.
- Featured locations: when you create a location for your events, you mark it as featured with one click, and you can do it with some or all of them.
- Optional shortcodes: you can set optional shortcodes for locations.
- Access to events based on location: the add-on lets you create access to events based on the place.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work without Modern Events Calendar? No. It is an add-on and needs MEC, in its Lite or Pro version.
Can I have a page for each place plus a general listing? Yes. Both are covered: the individual page for each location and the views of all locations as a list or grid.
Can I show the map in the listings? Yes, in list view and in grid view.
Can I show only the events of one specific venue? Yes, the events of each location can be shown through shortcodes, and so can the ones in progress.
It needs MEC installed and does not replace your calendar
This add-on does not work on its own: it adds location pages and views on top of an MEC calendar you have already set up. Before buying it, check in the demo how the location page looks and whether it fits the design of your site.
