One percentage for everyone falls short when affiliates are not worth the same
An affiliate program starts with a single commission and, a few months later, the problems appear: the affiliate who brings half your sales earns the same as someone who put a link on a site with no visitors, and a high-margin product pays the same as another that barely breaks even. Raising the overall percentage is expensive, and lowering it drives away your best people. AffiliateWP - Affiliate Product Rates is a free AffiliateWP add-on that adds one specific piece: setting different per-product rates for each affiliate.
What AffiliateWP - Affiliate Product Rates adds to what AffiliateWP already does
AffiliateWP already allows a global rate for everyone, per-product rates (in integrations that support them) and per-affiliate rates, which override the product ones. What it can't do on its own is combine the two. This add-on fills that gap: each affiliate can have their own table of per-product rates, as a percentage or a flat amount.
- One person earns 10% on one product, 80% on another and a fixed amount on a third.
- Another earns 50% on the first and less than the previous one on the rest.
- A third receives a flat amount on one product and different percentages on the other two.
It also works if you use several integrations at once: you can set per-product rates in each one.
How it fits depending on the kind of program you run
You have a small group of trusted affiliates
This is the clearest case. You negotiate with each partner and want to reflect the deal as agreed: more commission for whoever sells your star product, less for whoever only brings low-intent traffic.
You sell products with very different margins
If a course or a digital license leaves you almost the whole price and a physical product barely leaves any margin, you can pay a high percentage on the first and a cautious one on the second, or a flat amount where a percentage doesn't suit you.
You want to reward your best affiliates without touching the rest
You improve the terms for a specific affiliate on one or several products without changing the general rate. Everyone else stays as before.
It only works with Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce
Those two are the supported integrations. If your store uses another selling system, this add-on is no use to you. It is also an add-on: it needs AffiliateWP installed and doesn't work on its own.
There is a known issue worth keeping in mind: the add-on doesn't prevent the same product from appearing in more than one rate. If you add it in two places by mistake, the rate is ignored. Check each rate table carefully before treating the setup as done, and make a test purchase with a test affiliate.

Yes, but it was a single rate for everything that person sold. With the add-on you define different rates per product within each affiliate.
Can I use a percentage on one product and a flat amount on another?
Yes. The add-on's own examples mix percentages and flat amounts for the same affiliate.
Does it work with any store?
No, only with Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce.
What happens if I repeat a product in two rates?
The rate is ignored. It is a known issue: check that each product appears in only one place.
