When a template library opens, the temptation is picking the flashiest one. It is usually a mistake, and it gets discovered late.

Importing a complete template does not bring only the design: it brings its page structure, its filler content, its images and sometimes the plugins it needs to work. If that template is a restaurant's and your project is a consultancy, you have taken home a menu, a gallery of dishes and a booking form that now have to be deleted one by one. About licensing and the GPL

The theme's code and its add-ons are distributed under the GPL licence and their use is free. A hosted library is something else: the access, the new templates and the support are services contracted with the maker and they live while the licence is active. They are not the same thing, and buying one is not buying the other.
