About Awesome Support: Envato Validation
For anyone selling on Envato Market who is tired of giving support away
If you sell themes or plugins on Envato Market, you know the problem: people write to you who never bought your product, who downloaded it somewhere else, or who bought a cheaper item and expect the same attention. Every one of those tickets is time you don't get paid for. This Awesome Support add-on asks for the Envato purchase code before a ticket can be opened, so support goes to the people who paid for it.
It suits you if you already use Awesome Support as your helpdesk and sell on Envato. It doesn't suit you if you sell through your own store, another marketplace or your own licenses: it only validates Envato codes. It also doesn't work on its own: it is an add-on and needs the base Awesome Support plugin and an Envato account.
Awesome Support: Envato Validation checks that the license belongs to the right product
Many validators stop at asking whether the code exists. This one goes a step further: if you give it the product ID, it also checks that the license corresponds to that product. That matters when you have several items at different prices: it stops someone who bought the 6 dollar item from getting support for the 30 dollar one.
To set it up with a single product you need your Envato username, a valid API key and the ID of the product you support.
Free support for some products and paid support for others
If you sell several items, validation is decided product by product. You have three ways to set it up:
- Ask for a valid license for all products.
- Ask for it only on the products you choose.
- Ask for a valid license that also matches the product the request is about.
You just edit the product, enable license validation and enter the ID if you want to check the license against it. That way you can offer open help on a free or entry-level product and keep your attention for verified customers on the rest.
What you see inside the ticket
When you open a ticket in the admin, the support status of the Envato item appears, so you know whether the customer's support is active or expired without checking it elsewhere.
What to be clear about before choosing it
- It is not a helpdesk: it is a piece added to Awesome Support.
- It only works with Envato; it can't validate licenses from other platforms.
Check in the demo or on a test install how the ticket form looks for a user without a code, to make sure the message they receive is the one you want them to read.

Does it work if I sell a single product on Envato?
Yes. It is the simplest case: Envato username, API key and product ID.
Can I give support on some products without asking for a license?
Yes, validation is enabled per product, so you can leave off the ones you want to support freely.
Does it detect if someone uses the code of another of my products?
Yes, as long as you have entered the product ID: it checks that the license corresponds to that item.
Do I need Awesome Support?
Yes. Without the base plugin this add-on does nothing.
Does it work for stores using WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads?
No. It validates Envato purchase codes, not orders from other stores.
