Getting paid in crypto without opening an account with someone else's gateway
Accepting cryptocurrencies in a store usually means opening an account with an external processor, going through identity checks and accepting that someone else holds your money for a few days. Boxcoin takes the opposite approach: it is a WooCommerce plugin installed on your own server that generates payment addresses from there, with no third-party services, no registration and no KYC process.
Whoever sets up a store with crypto payments usually has a very specific customer: someone who already holds coins and wants to spend them without handing over personal data. If you ask for the same things a bank does, you lose the very reason they chose you. That is why it matters that the payment reaches your control directly and does not pass through an intermediary that asks for paperwork.
What Boxcoin does inside WooCommerce
The process is automatic, so you do not have to check transactions by hand.
- No periodic or withdrawal fees: since it runs on your server, the plugin does not charge recurring fees on payments. This does not include the network fees of each transaction, which depend on the blockchain.
- Optional own nodes: you can use your own nodes to monitor the blockchain and generate addresses, if you want to depend even less on third parties.
- Several coins: Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin, plus Tether, USD Coin, Shiba Inu, Chainlink, Basic Attention Token, Algorand and ERC-20 tokens.
What to be clear about before buying
Boxcoin is designed for WooCommerce and WordPress: if your store runs on another platform, this is not your plugin. Since it is a system installed on your server, you are responsible for keeping it available and well maintained. Also, getting paid in crypto means getting paid in an asset whose value can change: decide whether you keep it or convert it, because the plugin is not a service for exchanging into traditional currency. Also check that your server can run the plugin without limits that interrupt the monitoring of the chain.
