About Breakdance AI
Writing the copy for every section is what slows most websites down
Designing the page takes a while; filling it with headlines, paragraphs and calls to action is what drags on forever. Many sites sit for weeks with lorem ipsum because nobody has the copy ready. Breakdance AI is an add-on for the Breakdance builder that connects its writing tools to an artificial intelligence service.
What it does inside the Breakdance editor
It adds a writing assistant to the builder.
The text is generated by an OpenAI model, and you choose which one: GPT-4o mini or GPT-4o.
You need your own OpenAI key
This is the point that confuses people most. The add-on does not include AI access: you need an OpenAI account with its own API key and active billing. They are two separate things and are configured separately in the assistant settings.

- You cover it: the OpenAI account, its API key, and the cost of token usage charged by the provider.
- You cover it: reviewing every generated text, checking facts, tone and consistency with your brand.
- Requires Breakdance: it does not work on its own; it is an add-on for the builder.
Control who writes and how much is spent
For agencies or sites with several editors, the settings let you decide who uses the assistant:
- Full interface
- Edit content interface only
- No access: the assistant is disabled for that account.
There is also a daily token limit: once it is exceeded, requests are rejected. A panel shows current usage and a button resets the local counter. Note that resetting it does not erase what the provider has already charged or its own limits.
When it fails: where to look first
If the assistant does not respond, the usual causes are one of these: the configured daily limit has been used up, the OpenAI account has no access or balance, or the server has problems with the WordPress REST API or with outbound connections. It is worth asking your hosting about the latter before buying.

Does it work without Breakdance?
No. It is an add-on that integrates into the builder and only makes sense if you build your pages with it.
Does it include AI credits?
No. OpenAI bills the usage to your account through your API key.
Can I restrict its use to my content team?
Yes: you can give them access only to the content editing interface or remove it entirely.
Can I set a spending cap?
You can set a daily token limit in the add-on. The limits of your own OpenAI account are separate.
Does it replace a copywriter?
The text needs human review before publishing.
