What you need is a clean view of visits, sources and goals, with no setup wizard and no tracking code to paste. The free version covers the basics; Pro adds advanced tools for content-rich sites, such as advanced filters and customizable goals.

Burst Statistics Pro keeps the data in your own database
Everything it measures stays in your WordPress database: the maker doesn't see it, and its business model doesn't depend on your data. It can also track without cookies, so your visitors aren't followed around the web. It is designed to comply with GDPR, CCPA and other regulations, but that doesn't replace reviewing your privacy policy and any other cookies your site uses (advertising, for example).
It is also a lightweight plugin that works in the background. Check the result on your own hosting.
Questions before installing it
Do I need an external account or a tag manager? No: no account, no tag manager, no tracking code. You see everything from the WordPress dashboard.
Will it slow down my site? It is built to be efficient and run in the background. If your hosting is tight, measure before and after.
How is it different from the free version? The free one gives essential analytics. Pro adds customised email reports, advanced filters, customizable goals and other tools for shops and content-rich sites.
Can I remove the cookie banner? If you rely only on cookieless Burst, its tracking needs no consent. But if your site uses other tools that do set cookies, the banner is still necessary.
Reports, revenue and UTM are not in every plan
Some features depend on the Burst Pro plan: UTM campaign tracking comes with the Creator plan, revenue and sales tracking with Business, and automated client reports with Agency. Check which one you need before counting on them.
