About ChapterOne – Bookstore and Publisher Theme

A book sells on its own page, not on your homepage

People who land on an online bookstore rarely look for a bookstore: they look for a title, an author or a gift for someone who reads. If the book page is a gray block with a photo and a button, that person goes to another shop. And if you are a publisher, the problem is the opposite: you have authors, launches and new releases, but your site buries them in a blog nobody finds.

ChapterOne is a theme designed for bookstores, ebook sales and publishers.

Formats, reviews and events: what ChapterOne puts around the book

The same title often exists in several formats, and readers want to compare them without leaving the page. The theme includes different layouts for product variations and a product info shortcode to display the book details in an orderly way.

  • Product lists and carousels: shortcodes to display products as a list or a carousel.
  • Top reviews carousel: a shortcode to display reviews. Use only real reviews.
  • Events list: a shortcode that is useful if your bookstore or publisher holds events.
  • Team, testimonials and clients: a shortcode for each of them.

There are also shortcodes for pricing tables and video buttons, plus video background sections and a parallax effect.

Five headers and six homepages to build ChapterOne with WPBakery

The theme includes six sample homepages and a wide collection of inner pages, which you import with one click from the demo content. To build and tweak pages, use WPBakery Page Builder, which is included, together with Slider Revolution. No coding is required.

The header can be minimal, vertical, standard, divided or centered, with a mega menu, a separate logo for mobile and logo variants for light or dark headers. There are more than 800 Google Fonts, a footer of up to four columns, custom sidebars and several blog layouts (standard and masonry). Posts support gallery, link, quote, video and audio formats.

It also includes a child theme, is translation ready and is compatible with WPML, which matters if you publish in more than one language.

Choose ChapterOne if your catalog fits WooCommerce and WPBakery works for you

The shop depends on WooCommerce: the theme is compatible, but without that plugin there is no catalog or cart. The page builder is WPBakery, so if you already work with Elementor or the block editor, you will have to learn another tool. The demo images are for presentation only and you cannot use them on your site: you will need your own covers and photos. Before deciding, check in the demo whether the product page has room for what you say about each book (synopsis, author, format).

Can I use it to sell ebooks?

The theme is also designed for ebook sales, but the shop runs on WooCommerce. Check in the demo how products are displayed before building your catalog.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You import the demo content and edit with the visual builder.

Can I run the site in several languages?

Yes, it is translation ready and compatible with WPML. You handle the translation of the content.
