About CoreFramework
Your own CSS system instead of styles rewritten on every project
The first site is built with care. By the fifth, the margins no longer match, there are three almost identical blues and nobody remembers what each class was for. What repeats across clients is not the designs but the base CSS, and it almost always lives scattered inside each theme.
CoreFramework gathers that base into a portable CSS framework that you manage from a visual interface. For every decision (a color, a margin, a border radius) you get a CSS variable and a utility class. It comes preconfigured, but you can add classes, variables or components, remove the modules you don't use, and rename or reorganize everything to suit your team.
Colors, fluid sizes and components calculated from the CoreFramework editor
The most practical part is that repetitive work is generated instead of written by hand:
- Color system: you add as many colors as you want, group them and generate lighter tones, darker tones and transparent variants. Each one gives you its CSS variable and its utility classes.
- Fluid typography and spacing: calculators generate a scale of sizes (you can add as many as you want), or you set the minimum and maximum value of each one yourself. Every size gets its variable and its class.
- Component editor: you adapt and organize reusable interface components, see each change when you hover over it, and can build groups of components with modifier classes.
One plugin with Gutenberg, Bricks, Oxygen and Figma included
You install the plugin once and enable the Gutenberg, Bricks, Oxygen and Figma integrations from it. If some projects at your agency run on Bricks and others on the block editor, you keep using the same variables and classes across all of them, and that is what keeps your sites consistent.
There is also a standalone app that opens in the browser: you customize the framework and download, export or copy an organized stylesheet with automatic prefixes, handy for sites that are not WordPress.
Decide whether CoreFramework works as the base for all your projects
It fits if you already think in classes and variables, or want to start doing so. It is not a collection of designs: it is a style system, and what you build on top of it is up to you.
Does it include templates or demos ready to import?
No. It provides variables, classes, scales and style components, not finished pages. You will have to build the layouts with whichever editor you use.
Do I need Bricks or Oxygen?
No. Gutenberg is among the integrations and they are enabled from the plugin itself, so you can use it with just the block editor.
Is it useful if I don't know CSS?
The interface is visual, but the result is CSS classes and variables. It helps to understand how they are applied to get the most out of it.
Can it be used outside WordPress?
Yes, with the browser app: you export the stylesheet and use it on any site.
