Critique – Magazine, Newspaper & Review WordPress Theme

A review blog lives on every analysis being comparable to the previous one

Building a review, guide or comparison blog often ends up with a theme designed for standalone news items: posts get lost in a chronological list, nobody finds the analysis from six months ago and readers don't know where to go next. Critique is a magazine and blog theme with three homepages and several post layouts, designed so your content can be browsed and not just published.

Someone who reads a review rarely stays on it. They arrive looking for an opinion, want to see alternatives and decide whether to come back. That's why how your posts link together matters more than how many you publish.

Three homepages and several post formats to organize your writing

Critique comes with three homepages and different blog and post options. These are the features that matter most on a review or news site:

• Blog styles and flexible layouts: you can show your articles in different formats and choose whether the feed draws from post types or from specific categories.
• Related posts: a section at the end of each article that pushes the reader toward another of your analyses.
• Views, likes and sharing buttons: useful for highlighting what's most read.
• More than 20 post animations: visual effects when posts are displayed.
• Interactive Ajax search: readers find old reviews without reloading the page.
• Boxed or full-width layout, and adjustable colors and typography.

Header, footer and page with Elementor

The theme is compatible with Elementor and lets you customize header and footer with it. This matters: compatibility doesn't mean everything can be edited visually without touching anything else; many settings go through the Customizer and the theme's own options panel, which offers a large number of parameters.

What to know before choosing it

Critique is a general-purpose theme: it suits review blogs, guides, recipes, sports, gaming or finance, but it is not a tool specialized in ratings. Don't expect a built-in star rating system or product sheets with a verdict; if you need one, you'll have to solve it with another plugin or manual layout and check in the demo how it looks. The shop only exists if you install WooCommerce, the plugin the theme has an integrated shop design for.

The demo imports with one click, but the plugins come with it

Critique includes one-click demo installation, and the practical approach is to start there: you see how the homepages and post layouts look and remove what you won't use. Keep in mind that the theme relies on several companion plugins (Elementor, WooCommerce depending on the case), and the more you activate, the more you'll have to watch performance.

A good routine: import the demo in a test environment, check which homepages work for you, delete the rest and only then replace the texts and images with your own. If you plan to use its AI features or sliders, check in the demo first how they behave on mobile.
