You published the form, messages started reaching the client's inbox and everything seemed to work. A month later someone asks to export the contacts for follow-up. You open the entries view and find little or nothing.

A form can work perfectly for the public and leave no searchable record on your site. In Divi Form Builder, the Save To Database option comes turned off. Without it, the submission goes through and the email goes out, but the entries and reporting screens may show little or no data.

This Divi Engine plugin builds forms inside the Divi Visual Builder, and beyond contact it can create content from the front end, register users and take payments.

One module for eight form types

Everything revolves around the Form module, which holds Form Field child modules. Changing the type changes what happens to the submission:

• Contact: sends the submission by email, with a configurable recipient and subject.
• Create post, page or project: generates content from the front end, published or as a draft.
• Create product: adds WooCommerce products from the front end, and appears when WooCommerce is active.
• User registration: creates or edits accounts.
• Login: access with WordPress user fields and, if you want, ACF ones.
• Custom: your own fields with PHP processing, for people who write code.

Fields, steps and conditions

It offers text, text area, checkbox, radio, select, number, email, URL, password, hidden and calculated fields. On top of those come image and file uploads, date, date and time, content, signature, AI output and Google address.

Over those fields you can turn on multistep forms with a progress bar, conditional logic, Ajax submission, redirects after success or failure, result layouts, icons, descriptions and autocomplete. Spam protection combines reCAPTCHA, a basic captcha and honeypot.

Divi Form AI processes completed fields with your own OpenAI API key, so that use depends on an external account.

Mailing lists connect through the services available in Bloom, such as Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot or MailerLite. If Bloom does not cover your CRM, the Zapier integration can act as a bridge.

Taking payment from the same form

Form Payments works with Stripe and PayPal. The price can be fixed, custom or calculated, and if there are several calculation fields you choose which one sets the amount. On submission, the form redirects to the gateway.

Before publishing a form that charges, run a test purchase and confirm the amount reaches your gateway correctly. If you will also need histories, turn on Save To Database, since those submissions feed the entries, payments and export views.

What your installation needs, and the first form

It is built and tested for the Divi theme, with the latest version recommended. It has no official support with the standalone Divi Builder plugin. On the server, at least 512 MB of memory and a maximum execution time of 300 seconds are required.

1. Install and activate the plugin on a site with the Divi theme.
2. In the Visual Builder, add the Form module to the page. If you give it an ID, use one no other form has.
3. Choose the form type and add the fields as Form Field modules.
4. Turn on Save To Database if you want to keep the entries.
5. Set up email, spam protection and redirect, and make a real submission to check the expected result for that type.
