About Donation For WooCommerce

A donation that sends people away from your store gets lost along the way

Many organizations and cause-driven shops set up fundraising with a button that leads to another platform, a separate form or a manual transfer. Every jump away from your site is a donor who leaves it for later and never comes back. Donation For WooCommerce takes the opposite approach: the donation is just another WooCommerce product, with its own cart, payment and orders.

Campaigns, causes and goals inside Donation For WooCommerce

Each campaign is configured with its own rules. These are the features that weigh most when deciding:

  • Amounts: fixed, suggested or free amounts.
  • Causes: several causes within one campaign, each with a name, description and image, so donors choose which project their contribution goes to.
  • Goals: the target can be measured by amount, percentage, number of donations or days, and is shown with progress bars. When it is reached, the form can close with a custom message.
  • Dates and countdown: scheduled start and end for limited campaigns, with a visible timer.
  • Round-up: customers round up the cart total and donate the difference, handy if you are a shop supporting a cause.
  • Tributes: donations in honor or memory of someone, with a message or e-card.
  • Payment gateway fee: you can add it so the donor covers it.
  • Donor wall: names, amounts and messages, with the option to show anonymous contributions.
  • Product donations: besides money, it accepts in-kind contributions.

Recurring donations depend on another extension

Periodic contributions (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) rely on WooCommerce Subscriptions, and free subscription plugins are also supported. Without a subscriptions extension installed, you will only have one-time donations. Keep this in mind in your planning if your model is based on members or fees.

Where the form appears

You can place it on the shop, product, cart and checkout pages, in widgets, in Gutenberg blocks or on any page with a shortcode. You also choose between an on-page or pop-up layout.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run several campaigns at once?

Yes, each with its own goals and look, organized by categories. A donor can contribute to several campaigns in a single checkout.

Does it send receipts and thank-yous?

Yes: automatic emails when the order is completed, with editable tags and subjects, attached e-cards and downloadable PDF receipts.

Is it useful if I am in the United Kingdom?

It includes Gift Aid UK, so British donors can increase their contribution through tax relief. Check with your advisor how it applies to your organization.

Can I access data from outside WordPress?

It includes a REST API to manage donations programmatically, plus a dashboard with statistics and reports for each campaign.

What the dashboard shows and what donors will share

The dashboard shows real-time data on donations, campaigns and donors, and generates reports per campaign. On the donor side, there is a button to share their contribution on social media. Before publishing names and messages on the wall, define clearly what is shown and always leave the option to appear as anonymous.

Start with one test campaign, then the rest

Since it is a WooCommerce extension, you need your store running and your payment gateway configured. Start with a single campaign: choose the amount type, set the goal, decide where the form appears and make a test donation to check the thank-you email and the receipt. If you plan periodic fees, install the subscriptions extension first and test a full cycle. Once everything fits, duplicate the model for your next causes.
