About Echoiz – News & Magazine Elementor Pro Template

A magazine's design without committing to a theme

Buying a magazine theme is a big decision: you marry its way of organising the homepage, its builder and its author. A template set is something else. It gives you the design already solved and the rest stays yours, including the theme, which you choose.

Echoiz is a set of Elementor templates for blogs and magazines: homepage, listings, article, and the pages that go with them.

What it is and what it is not

Worth making clear because it is the usual confusion with this kind of product. It is not a theme and not a plugin. It is a package of designs made with Elementor that get imported into your WordPress and edited like any other page.

Underneath, a theme is still needed, any that works with Elementor, plus Elementor itself.

What it saves you

  • The grid and the hierarchy, which is the hard part of a publication's homepage and what separates a professional site from a homemade one.
  • The typography, with sizes and spacing already decided.
  • The pages always missing: single article, category listing, contact.
  • Time: importing and swapping the content is hours, not weeks.

What it does not save you

And on a publication that is nearly everything. A template set is design: it does not publish, does not organise sections, does not manage adverts and does not get you read.

The adverts have to be planned. If the site is monetised with advertising, look at where they fit before calling the design finished, because forcing them into a closed layout is what breaks homepages.

The demo images carry their own licence and have to be replaced. On a publication that is not a problem: your photographs are yours.

And the volume. A template looks beautiful with six articles. Before deciding, picture the homepage with two years of publishing behind it and check the category listing and the archive hold up.

Requirements

It needs WordPress, a theme compatible with Elementor and Elementor. This set is built for the Pro version of Elementor, so worth budgeting for it if you do not have it yet.

Alternatives in the catalogue

If you prefer a complete theme rather than a template set, there are three different routes. ColorMag composes the homepage from blocks and does not tie you to a particular builder. FlashMagz prioritises speed, which on a publication is money. And UmparanWP goes for the dense homepage of the large portals, with planned advertising slots.

If the project is a genuine digital newspaper, with sections, bylines and volume, the high end is held by JNews and DelikWP, which bring solved what a template set does not cover: section management, article formats and advertising positions.

If the template set format interests you for other sectors, the catalogue has more: Tripzo for travel agencies and Amelia James for a wedding website.

And if you like the template set format but want more room to manoeuvre, there are two pieces extending what can be built with Elementor: Jeg Elementor Kit adds widgets and templates aimed precisely at magazines and blogs, and Elementor Blueprint is another design library for starting from something built.

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace the WordPress theme?
No. It gets imported onto a theme compatible with Elementor, which is still needed.

Do I need Elementor Pro?
This set is built for the Pro version, so worth having it.

Can I use the demo images?
No. They carry their own licence and have to be replaced with yours.

Does it include ad management?
No. It is design. Advertising positions have to be planned while laying out.

Is it suitable for a blog as well as a magazine?
Yes, the structure serves blogs, magazines, tutorials and article sites generally.

Can it be edited after importing?
Yes, it becomes like any Elementor page and gets changed by dragging.
