Preparing for an exam is not the same as taking a course
A course is followed from start to finish. Exam preparation repeats: mock papers, practice tests, spotting where you fail, going back. The student does not want to know how many lessons they have watched, they want to know whether they would pass today. Two different products, even though both are called online learning.
Egrad is a WordPress theme aimed at the second case: preparation academies, competitive exam centres and training with continuous assessment.
What it brings for assessment
- Tests and quizzes, with practice papers and mock exams.
- Student tracking: registration, progress and results.
- Leaderboards, which work in exam preparation because students want to know where they stand against the rest.
- Lessons and modules, with room for video and live webinars.
Where those features come from
Worth knowing before buying. The learning side does not come from a well-known system such as LearnDash or Tutor, but from an add-on written by the theme author, installed alongside it.
That has a practical consequence: courses, tests and results end up tied to that add-on. If you change theme later, it is not only a question of appearance, you have to look at what happens to the content. Not a reason to rule it out, but worth keeping in mind if the project is meant to last.
How it is edited and what comes with it
It is edited with Elementor, and works just the same with the Pro version. It brings WooCommerce for charging for courses, WPML for a second language, The Events Calendar for classes and exam dates, and several homepages with one-click demo import. It expects a modern WordPress and PHP 8.2 or above.
