About Elementor Form Builder for MEC
The booking form is the last screen before someone pays, and almost nobody designs it
People who run events with Modern Events Calendar usually take care of the poster, the description and the calendar, and leave the booking form with its default look. That is exactly the point where an attendee decides whether to finish or walk away. Elementor Form Builder for MEC lets you design that form with the same visual editor you already use for the rest of your site.
A registration form has a particularity: it is nothing like a contact form. It asks for attendee data, sometimes per ticket, and it gets filled in quickly and from a phone. That is why it matters that the fields are well organized and that the style does not clash with the rest of the page.
What you can do with Elementor Form Builder for MEC
It is an addon that relies on Elementor to build the booking forms for your events. These are its features, and what they are for:
- Design with Elementor: you build the form in the visual editor.
- Your own style: you adjust the typography, margins, borders (padding included) and colors so the form is consistent with your site.
- Full width or several columns: you choose how the form is displayed, with no restrictions, and place the fields where you want.
- Unlimited forms: you can create as many as you need for your tickets and events.
- For all events or just one: you apply a form to the whole calendar or reserve it for a specific event. It is useful when a workshop needs different data from a talk.
- Show and hide details: from the options you decide what is visible, so the form stays cleaner.
It needs MEC Pro and Elementor
It does not work on its own: it is an add-on for Modern Events Calendar and requires the Pro version of the calendar. Since the design is done in Elementor, you also need that page builder on your site. And its job is the look and layout of the form: it is not a general-purpose form builder for contact forms, nor does it replace the calendar.
Questions people ask before installing it
Does it work as a general contact form?
It is not designed for that. It is an add-on for your event and ticket forms inside MEC.
Can I have a different form for each event?
Yes. You can apply a form to all events or assign it exclusively to one, and create as many as you need.
Does it work without MEC Pro?
No. It requires MEC Pro, so check that your calendar already has it before planning the redesign.
A short form converts better than a long, pretty one
Having full control of the design tempts you to add fields. Before laying anything out, decide what you really need from each attendee: name and email are usually enough for a free talk, while a workshop with materials or catering may ask for more. Use the hide option to remove what adds nothing and the columns so the form does not get too long on large screens.
Start with one event and roll it out later
The easiest way is to create the first form and apply it to a single test event. Check how it looks on mobile, which is where many attendees book, and once you are happy with it, extend it to all events. If an event needs different fields, make a separate form and assign it only to that one.
