Whatever is most installed is always the most attacked

It is not an opinion about Elementor: it is how the business on the other side works. Whoever wants into other people's sites does not pick the plugin they like most, they pick the one on the most sites, because the same work opens thousands of doors instead of one.

Elementor runs on millions of sites. That makes it a permanent target, and explains why security updates for this particular plugin are not a maintenance detail: they are the patch applied the same day the advisory appears, or not applied at all.

An unupdated builder does not show. It lays out pages just as well the following month. The difference is not in what it does, it is in what it no longer protects.

What the official Elementor Pro licence covers

The official updates from the WordPress dashboard, security ones included; the maker's support and activation against their servers, which is what makes those updates arrive on their own. The GPLClub team does the activation on your domain.

About licensing and the GPL

Elementor's code is distributed under the GPL licence and its use is free. Automatic updates, the maker's support and activation against their servers are separate services, contracted with them. They are not the same thing, and buying one is not buying the other.
