Embedding a YouTube video on your site means giving away your viewer's attention: logo, title, share button and a column of related videos that lead your visitor somewhere else. Its most striking feature is that it completely hides the YouTube interface (Watch later, Share, logo, title and related videos), so the video plays as if it were a regular mp4. You can also use the default YouTube player or one with custom controls. It supports single videos, playlists, user channels, 360 VR videos and YouTube livestreams.
With one click it can replace all the YouTube embeds you already have on the site. It is inserted with a shortcode in a page or post, after choosing the player type.
Your own ads or ad network ads on every video
This is the real value for anyone monetizing:
- VAST, VPAID, VMAP and Google IMA: linear ads (pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll and PODS) and non-linear ads (banners or text), with no coding.
- Self-hosted ads: your own videos as pre-roll, mid-roll or post-roll, plus popup ads, with no external XML files.
- Configurable skip ad: you can set a different skip time for each video.
- Combination: your own advertising can be mixed with VAST, VMAP and IMA.
With Google Analytics you can measure video views and downloads, and also how many times an ad is watched, how long it plays before being skipped and how many clicks it gets.
Where to host your videos and what to decide before buying
It plays YouTube, Vimeo, self-hosted mp4, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Amazon S3, local videos and HLS streaming (m3u8). You can mix several sources in the same playlist. It includes Chromecast support and smart thumbnails on the progress bar.
The core decision: if all you want is to embed a video now and then, a player this complete is overkill. It makes sense if you handle several sources or want advertising inside the video.
