About Envira Gallery - Google Photos Addon
Import your Google Photos albums directly into Envira Gallery
If you manage photos in Google Photos and also use Envira Gallery to display galleries on WordPress, keeping both spaces in sync by hand gets repetitive: upload first to one site, then download and upload again to the other. This addon removes that duplicate step by connecting both platforms so you can bring in your existing albums without leaving the WordPress dashboard.
What this addon solves
Envira Gallery - Google Photos Addon lets you connect your Google Photos account to the Envira editor and select the albums or images you want to turn into a site gallery. Instead of downloading files one by one from Google and uploading them again to the WordPress media library, the addon takes care of bringing in the selected images and getting them ready to organize with Envira's usual tools: layout, ordering, lightbox and the rest of the main plugin's features.
How it works
- Account connection: your Google account is linked to access the albums you have stored in Google Photos.
- Content selection: you choose which album or which specific images you want to bring into an Envira gallery, without having to manually download them to your computer first.
- Editor integration: once imported, the images behave just like any other image added to Envira, so you can apply the same layout, ordering and display settings to them.
- Time savings on large galleries: this is especially useful when you already have extensive albums organized in Google Photos and don't want to repeat that sorting work in WordPress.
Who this is useful for
This addon fits well in projects where photos are generated and stored first in Google Photos: photographers sharing shoots with clients, event teams uploading photos from their phones to a shared album, or blog and portfolio administrators who already use Google Photos as a backup and want to reuse those images on their site without duplicating the upload process.
Integration with Envira Gallery
As an addon, this plugin doesn't work on its own: it requires the main Envira Gallery plugin to be installed and active, since it adds the import option within the gallery creation workflow itself. Once activated, the Google Photos option appears as another source from which to add images, alongside manual uploads or other integrations configured in Envira.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the main Envira Gallery plugin to use this addon?
Yes, it's a complement that extends Envira Gallery's features and doesn't work on its own.
Do the images stay synced with Google Photos if I change the original album?
The addon is designed to import the selected content into the gallery; to reflect later changes to the source album, you should repeat the import for the new images.
Can I combine images imported from Google Photos with manually uploaded images?
Yes, once imported they're managed just like any other image within the Envira gallery editor, so they can be mixed without any issue.
Does it work for importing whole albums or only individual photos?
It lets you select both entire albums and individual images, depending on what you need for each gallery.
