Photographers with a catalog, not a store: who this addon fits
Selling photos online usually ends in one of two ways: a beautiful gallery with no way to buy, or a WooCommerce store where the images look like warehouse listings. This addon joins the two: it adds WooCommerce to Envira galleries so every image, video or whole gallery can be linked to a product.
It suits photographers, artists and anyone selling products that look better in a gallery than in a store grid. It is not for you if you only want a gallery without a store, or if you expect it to work on its own: it needs Envira Gallery Pro and the WooCommerce plugin installed, and then you activate the addon.
Every photo for sale is one more product to maintain
The hard work is not in the gallery, it is in the catalog. If you want to sell each photo as a separate download, WooCommerce asks for one product per photo. The addon eases this with a product template that automatically generates draft products for each image you add to the gallery, but those drafts need reviewing: prices, descriptions and download files are up to you. Budget for that time before you start uploading hundreds of images.
From the buy button in the lightbox to the whole collection
These are the pieces that change how you sell with Envira Gallery WooCommerce Addon:
- Add to cart buttons inside the gallery or the lightbox, with automatic product creation and removal if you enable it.
- Links from an image, a video, a whole gallery or a bundle to a WooCommerce product.
- Several images assigned to a single product from the WooCommerce dropdown, useful for offering prints, posters or digital copies of the same series.
- Collection sales: when you enable WooCommerce on an album, Envira can create one product per gallery so customers can add entire collections to the cart.
It also works for physical goods: a gallery of photos and videos of an item can hang from its product page.
Matte or digital: the options come from WooCommerce, not Envira
If you want the same photo sold as a matte print or as a digital download, that is solved with WooCommerce variable products (attributes and variations under Product Data). The addon connects the gallery to the product, but sizes, finishes and formats are set up in WooCommerce. Envira takes no commission on your sales: you control prices and the store, although payment depends on the payment gateway you use in WooCommerce.
Questions before you sell your first photo
Can I sell photos with Envira Gallery without coding? Yes. You enable WooCommerce when creating the gallery and can generate the products from there, without touching code.
Do I have to create one product per photo? If you want to sell them as separate downloads, yes. The product template creates the drafts for you, but you will need to complete them.
Can I put several photos in the same product? Yes, you select several images from the gallery and assign them to one product from the WooCommerce dropdown.
Can I sell whole galleries? Yes, by enabling WooCommerce on the album; Envira can create one product per gallery if you choose.
