Running a blog has a problem that never shows up in the editorial calendar: most visitors land on a single article, read it and leave. What decides whether they stay is what they see next: whether the home page shows them your latest posts and whether the listing invites them to open another piece. Boston Pro is a theme for blogs and digital magazines that tackles exactly that, with a simple magazine style.
If yours is a shop or a corporate site with a token blog, this theme will be more editorial than you need and will lack everything else: it is built so that written content comes first.
Boston Pro: post slider, four layouts and a couple of dependencies
- Featured content slider: puts recent posts in the header, so the newest content is the first thing visitors see. There is also a carousel option and a carousel with slider option.
- Four layouts for the post listing and for the article page, so you can pick the one that fits the way you publish.
- 600+ Google fonts to give your blog its own typography without touching code.
- Instagram widget: shows the latest image right after the footer widgets.
- Footer editor: you write your own copyright text and remove the designer credits.
It also includes a customizer, your own logo, a primary color option, social media icons, a footer widget area, page templates and readiness to translate the theme into your language.
What does not come on its own
Social sharing buttons, related posts and infinite scroll are listed as features that work with Jetpack, so expect to have that plugin installed. And the Instagram widget shows the latest image, not a full gallery. There is also a free version called Boston: compare both before deciding.

Can I change the color and fonts?

Yes, with the footer editor you write your own copyright and remove the designer's details.
Does it work without Jetpack?
The theme does, but social sharing, related posts and infinite scroll depend on Jetpack.
The demo content imports with one click, and then you have to decide
Importing the demo gives you a finished home page to work from, but it is not your blog yet. What deserves your time next: uploading your logo, choosing the primary color, picking one or two fonts, writing the footer text and deciding whether you want the Instagram widget.
Before settling on one of the four layouts, open the demo with a couple of your real articles in mind: with long texts or very short headlines, the listing reads differently.
