About FixTeam | Electronics & Mobile Devices Repair WordPress Theme

Your customer searches for the symptom, not the name of your service

The phone fell in water, the screen cracked or the battery no longer lasts. Someone in that situation thinks about what is happening to them, and your site often answers with a menu of "Smartphone Repair", "Tablet Repair" and "Laptop Repair". That menu organizes your shop, but it asks the visitor to translate their problem into your categories.

A repair site needs two front doors: the device and the fault. The FixTeam demo, by AncoraThemes, brings both, and that is the strongest reason to look at it if your business fixes phones, tablets or computers.

A page per device and another per fault

  • By device: smartphone, tablet, laptop, computer, watch, game console and music player.
  • By problem: cracked screen, water damage, speaker not working, no signal, broken buttons and dead battery.
  • One place to manage them: in the demo, both are entries of the Services content type, which has its own menu and is displayed with a shortcode.

The demo's fault pages carry placeholder text. That is your job: explain what you check, what can happen to the data and what the customer should bring. The theme gives you the structure, not that content.

The rest of a repair shop's site

  • Five home pages and two versions of the About Us page.
  • Several locations: the Locations page shows three sample stores with address, phone, hours and photo.
  • Appointments: the Appointments page shows a monthly calendar, and the package includes QuickCal.
  • Shop: accessories and devices with WooCommerce, a price filter and grid or list view.
  • Buying broken devices: a home page block, Sell Your Broken Device, to offer money for a device the customer decides not to repair. In the demo it leads to Contacts.

Headers, colors and fonts under your control.

Settings live in the Customizer, with more than 750 options, and each page can override the global values. There are four color schemes (light, dark, blue light and blue dark), up to five font families and Layouts templates for headers and footers, edited with WPBakery.

The gaps you must cover yourself

Its features do not include repair status tracking or an estimate calculator. If your customers ask how their device is doing, you will need another tool or the phone.

In the demo, the "Get a Free Estimate" button leads to an information page and the "Get Directions" link to Contacts. You will have to create your own estimate form and add a map for each location. The Google Maps shortcode requires a valid API key. The preview images are not included either, so prepare your own photos.

Server, demo and first published fault page

The only essential plugin is ThemeREX Addons; the others are recommended. On shared hosting with limited resources, activate only the ones you will use. For the server, 256M of memory, 32M of upload size and an execution time of 600 are recommended.

  1. Upload and activate the theme using only the fixteam folder from the downloaded archive.
  2. Install the plugins from Appearance, Install Plugins.
  3. Import the demo from Install Demo Data. The full import deletes all existing content, so run it on a new installation.
  4. Write first the fault pages that bring you the most inquiries.
  5. Use a child theme for code changes.

If you are comparing other themes or calendars

Electro Repair also covers appliances and imaging, and suits a shop that goes beyond phones and computers. iRepair is another electronics repair theme.

For a fuller calendar, Amelia syncs appointments both ways with Google Calendar per professional, which helps with several technicians. Test how it fits the design before replacing QuickCal.

Appointments, shop and multiple stores in FixTeam

Can I take appointments through the site?

Yes, with QuickCal, which comes in the package. Set your hours and review the calendar before publishing it.

Can I sell as well as repair?

Yes. It is compatible with WooCommerce and the demo has a shop with accessories, watches and laptops.

Does it work if I have several stores?

It has a page with several locations, although each entry links to Contacts by default and the demo includes no map.

Does it work with several languages?

It is compatible with WPML.

Does it show the status of each repair?

That function is not among the ones it brings. You will need a separate solution.
