Putting order data inside the gift card
A PDF gift card with the same text for everyone gets you started. It stops working the moment you need it to carry the giver's name, the recipient's, an expiry date or the specific product bought. There the generic design falls short, and the alternative is usually editing the PDF by hand for every order.
This add-on solves that: it lets you create your own shortcodes carrying WooCommerce data and place them inside the gift card's PDF template.
Where it pulls data from
- The order and its metadata.
- The product and its metadata.
- Product attributes.
- Site settings.
- Callable functions, for anything that needs calculating.
You choose the source, give the shortcode your own name, and it appears in the PDF's drag-and-drop editor. No code involved.
Which fields it works with
It recognises fields created with Flexible Product Fields and Flexible Checkout Fields. That is what closes the loop: if you asked the buyer for a recipient name and a message at checkout, that data can be printed on the card.
The first thing to know
This is an add-on, not a standalone product. It extends Flexible PDF Coupons PRO, so you need that plugin. It can be bought separately or bundled with it.
Requirements
WooCommerce 10.7 to 11.1, and PHP 7.4 or higher.
Who it makes sense for
Stores already selling gift cards with Flexible Coupons that have hit the limit of the fixed template: the ones wanting to personalise each card with order data rather than sending everybody the same PDF.
