About Flexible Quantity PRO
Selling by the meter, the kilo or the square meter doesn't fit in a quantity field
The WooCommerce quantity field thinks in single units: one t-shirt, two mugs. But if you sell fabric, flooring, vinyl or any material sold by measure, your customer doesn't know how many units they need. They know how big their wall is. If the store makes them do the math alone, they either write to ask you or get it wrong, and someone pays for the mistake: them or you.
Flexible Quantity PRO changes the starting point: the customer enters their measurements and the store does the calculation.
Flexible Quantity PRO calculates the price from the measurements the customer types
On the product page itself, the buyer enters width, length and height, and the plugin calculates the price for units of area and volume. The calculation shows on the same page.
- Your own units: you can sell by weight, length, area, volume, or create a custom unit of measure.
- Fixed measurements: you decide which dimensions only you change, such as a roll width that never varies, and which ones the customer fills in.
- Variations: it also works with variable products.
Price tiers, increments and limits per product
You can enable a pricing table with different values by quantity range, rewarding large orders.
You can also set an increment (the threshold after which the price changes), minimum and maximum quantities per product, and sell with decimal quantities, for example 2.5 kilos. You can also display the price in larger units. And it integrates with the product stock field.
The shipping class changes by itself according to quantity
A one-meter order and a fifty-meter order don't ship the same way. The plugin assigns the product a different shipping class depending on the quantity that goes into the cart, and it can be combined with dynamic pricing and the new units. Note: the plugin only chooses the class. The rates for each class are still set in the WooCommerce shipping settings.
Invoices and other compatible plugins
Flexible Quantity PRO focuses on quantities, measurements and prices. It helps to be clear about what is inside and what is not:
- Already handled: calculation by dimensions, custom units, tiered price table, minimums and maximums, decimal quantity, shipping class by quantity and variations.
- You cover it with another plugin: showing the new unit of measure on PDF invoices works with Flexible Invoices, with which it is compatible.
- Compatible: it is also compatible with Flexible Product Fields PRO.
- You cover it yourself: the prices, the tiers and the shipping rates for each class are defined by you, product by product.
It is a plugin for WooCommerce: without that store, there is no point in installing it.
Questions before setting up a store sold by measure
Can I sell products with variations?
Yes, the plugin supports product variations.
Can the customer change all the dimensions?
Not necessarily. You can leave fixed the ones you want and have the customer fill in only the rest.
Can I limit how much each customer buys?
Yes. Minimum and maximum quantities can be set per product, in units, weight, length, area, volume or custom units.
Will the unit of measure appear on the invoice?
With the Flexible Invoices plugin, yes: the new units appear on WooCommerce PDF invoices. With another invoicing system, check it in the demo first.
