About Flexible Shipping PRO

Flat shipping fees in WooCommerce tend to end the same way: either you give money away on heavy orders or you scare customers off with a rate they don't understand at checkout. Matching the price to what each order really costs to ship is one of the few margin levers that doesn't require touching your catalog.

The case: a store with light, heavy and bulky orders

Imagine a store that sells everything from T-shirts to furniture. With WooCommerce's basic shipping methods, you would have to choose an average rate that hurts one group or another. Flexible Shipping PRO works as a table rate shipping system: you define the rules and the plugin picks the matching price in the cart. Let's go through it step by step.

Step 1: you decide which data drives the rules

You can base rules on weight, order total or item count. If your carrier has weight brackets, you carry them over as they are; if you prefer to reward bigger spenders, you use the order total.

Step 2: you write the brackets

Each rule is a range with its cost. For example: from 0 to 99.90 costs 5, and from 100 it costs 10. More complex scenarios can also be built with product dimensions and shipping classes, something other users of the plugin mention as their reason for choosing it. If you need per-kilometer rates or other distance calculations, that belongs to another plugin from the same family, not this one.

Step 3: you let AI help you configure

The manufacturer's site shows an AI assistant to which you describe your scenario in plain language ("9.99 up to 100 and 5.99 above") and which proposes the rules table ready to apply. Always review what it generates before publishing, especially at the edges of each bracket.

Step 4: you add fees and free shipping

One customer says their only goal was to add handling fees to their shipping options and they solved it without difficulty. Another uses the plugin to offer reduced or free shipping to those who exceed a certain amount, balancing margin and satisfaction.

What Flexible Shipping PRO does not do on its own

  • It does not query live rates from UPS, FedEx, DHL or USPS: other plugins from the same maker exist for that, and the prices you see are the ones you write.
  • It does not generate labels or manage pickups: it calculates what is charged in the cart.
  • Rates are only as good as your tables: if your carrier's costs change, you have to update them by hand.

Questions to ask before buying it

Is it the same as the distance-based rates plugin?

No. Distance-based rates are a separate product in the same family. This one focuses on rules by weight, amount and quantity.

Why cart transparency matters

An unexpected shipping cost is a common cause of abandoned carts. If your catalog mixes products of very different sizes, that is where you will notice it most.
