A portfolio gets lost when the site competes with the photos
Many photography portfolios fail through excess: crowded menus, effects in every corner and galleries that make you hunt for the image. Someone choosing a photographer opens several portfolios in a row and keeps the one that let the work breathe. Floona starts from that idea: a minimalist theme for photographers, artists, studios and freelancers, where the design steps aside so the image takes the lead.
It is something the trade finds hard to accept: clients rarely remember your website, they remember three photos. The less noise around them, the more likely those photos are yours.
Floona and its galleries: fullscreen, masonry and interactive presentations
The theme comes with predesigned layouts made for photography, including:
- Fullscreen
- Masonry
- Interactive presentations
On top of them you can add optional effects: hover animations, loading animations (fade in, slide up, zoom) and a cursor effect that follows the mouse. Use them sparingly: one well-chosen effect helps, five at once cover the photo.
Elementor without the Pro version and homepages ready to import
Floona relies on Neuron Builder and is fully compatible with Elementor. To achieve the designs you see in the demos you do not need Elementor Pro. It includes more than 80 drag and drop elements, more than 500 options and shortcodes, control over columns, spacing and title alignment, Google Fonts or your own typefaces, and Font Awesome icons or SVGs that you upload yourself.
To get started you pick one of the predesigned homepages, import it with one click and change the text, images and style until it fits your brand. If you also run a blog, the query options (related posts, date filter, exclude posts) help keep visitors reading.
Is Floona your theme if you also sell or manage clients?
For a portfolio, a studio website or a freelance profile, it fits right in. If your business needs more, weigh this before deciding: it includes a WooCommerce customizer, but the shop itself requires that plugin separately. Features such as session bookings or private client galleries are handled with external plugins; check in the demo how they look with them. And since the theme is managed with Elementor, you will need to be comfortable with a visual page builder.
Do I need Elementor Pro?
No. Floona's designs can be built with the free version of Elementor.
Can I use my own typefaces?
Yes. You can choose from Google Fonts or add your own typefaces.
Does it work on mobile?
It is a responsive theme, but check the fullscreen galleries and effects on your own phone before publishing.
Is it suitable for a multilingual website?
It is compatible with WPML, which is a separate plugin. Multilingual support depends on that plugin, not on the theme.
