About FormCraft - Premium WordPress Form Builder
A form people abandon won't tell you it's failing
Publishing a form and forgetting about it is the norm: you see the messages that arrive, but not how many visitors opened it and left halfway. On top of that, there are forms that look dated, fall apart on mobile or reload the whole page when submitted.
FormCraft is a plugin for building forms with a drag and drop editor. Its strength isn't only building the form, but measuring what happens with it. Whoever installs it usually runs a business that depends on someone filling in a form (asking for a quote, requesting information, buying), and there every abandonment is a lost customer that nobody notices.
An online quote with FormCraft, step by step
Imagine a workshop that wants customers to calculate the price of a service before writing to them. This is how it goes in FormCraft:
- You build the fields. You drag each element from the menu onto the form and reposition it with your cursor. The editor looks like one more screen of the WordPress dashboard, so there is no new tool to learn.
- You make the form ask only what's needed. With conditional logic you can show or hide fields depending on what the person answers, send emails or trigger integrations.
- You calculate the amount. Math expressions let you update a live shopping cart while the customer picks options. Note: charging requires the add-on for the payment gateway you use; without it, the form calculates but doesn't charge.
- You dress it in your brand. You change fonts, width, base color or a full color scheme, and add your logo, a background image or your own CSS.
- You decide where it appears. You embed it in a page, open it as a popup or trigger it from an element that already exists on the page.
- You connect what comes next. MailChimp, GetResponse and Campaign Monitor integrate through add-ons. If you work with another email tool, check the add-ons list before deciding.
- You look at the numbers. Real-time analytics show views and submissions, the conversion rate and the payment conversion rate, by week, month, year or a custom period. If you see many views and few submissions, the problem is in the form, not in your traffic.
On mobile, tablet or a small screen the form adapts, and since it's built on AJAX it submits without reloading the page. The code is lightweight and valid HTML5.
Questions before installing FormCraft
Do I need to know how to code?
Not for the usual tasks: everything is done by dragging. Custom CSS is optional, for those who want to fine-tune the look.
Can I use it to take payments online?
Yes, but through the payment gateway add-ons. The base plugin doesn't charge on its own.
Does it integrate with my email marketing tool?
With MailChimp, GetResponse and Campaign Monitor, through add-ons. For others, check whether the corresponding add-on exists.
Can I see how many visitors complete the form?
Yes: the analytics show views, submissions and conversion rates for the period you choose.
One site per installation: the limit on multisite networks
FormCraft works on a standalone installation or on a single site of a WordPress multisite network. If you want to use it across all the subsites of the network, a specific add-on is required. It's a detail worth knowing if you manage several websites under the same installation.
