About Freebone – Wordpress Music Band WordPress Theme
For the band that tours and wants fans to see everything from the home page
Band websites usually fail for the same reason: the latest news is a year old, the tour dates have already passed and the fan arriving from Instagram can't find the next show. Freebone organizes the site around what a band needs to tell: tour, news, story, music and fan club.
- It suits you if you play live and want each date to have its city, its day and its ticket button.
- It suits you if you post news regularly (new members, tour announcements, causes you support).
- It's not the best base if your priority is selling merchandise or music from the site itself: check the demo to see whether what you need fits.
Nor is it a generic theme that works equally well for a restaurant: its menu and blocks are designed for a band, and you'll notice that if you adapt it to another business.
The tour on the home page, with date and ticket button
The Freebone home page shows a list of shows: city, country, date (or a date range) and a BUY TICKETS button on each line. For the fan it's the shortest path between wanting to go and knowing how.
A past date that stays on the list tells visitors the band is inactive. With this kind of list, the real work is removing or updating dates when the time comes. Also check how each button links to your ticket seller, because the button is the visible part, not a ticketing system of its own.
News with date and excerpt, so the site doesn't look abandoned
The news block shows each post with a title, a date and a snippet of the text. It's useful for announcing a tour, introducing a new member or explaining which cause a concert's proceeds go to. With a steady posting rhythm the home page refreshes itself; without one, the section becomes a reminder of how long you've been silent.
Story, music and photos: what promoters and press look for
Someone booking shows or writing about you doesn't want to browse much: they look for who you are, what you've released and how you sound. The Freebone menu splits that into two entries: the band story, and music and media (releases, songs with lyrics and photos).
The social icons (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Apple, Spotify and SoundCloud) take listeners to where they already hear your music, which is useful because the theme doesn't try to replace those platforms, but to send traffic to them.
Fan club and newsletter so you don't depend on social networks
The menu includes a fan club section and the home page has a newsletter block for receiving news and events, plus links to follow the band on social media. Having your own mailing list saves you from depending on each network's reach when you announce dates. To send the emails you'll need your own sending service; the demo only shows the subscription block.
Frequently asked questions about Freebone
Does it work for a solo artist or a DJ?
Yes, as long as your site revolves around dates, news, music and followers. Change the name and the texts and the structure stays the same.
Does it sell tickets by itself?
What you see are buy buttons next to each date. The sensible approach is to link them to your usual ticket seller.
Can I show lyrics and photos?
The menu has a music and media section with releases, songs with lyrics and photos, so that content has its place.
Can I build a merchandise shop with it?
It's not its strong point. If a shop is essential, check in the demo whether it fits before deciding.
