About GDPR Cookies

A cookie notice nobody reads doesn't protect your store

Many WooCommerce stores install a cookie banner just to get the problem out of the way and then forget about it. The result: a banner that covers the product on mobile, clashes with the brand colors and gives no idea of how many people accept or reject it. GDPR Cookies is a plugin built for that specific case: an online store that sells to European customers and needs its own notice, without touching code.

The idea to keep in mind from the start: in a store, the cookie notice is the first thing a new shopper sees, before your photos and your prices. If it feels untrustworthy or annoying, you notice it in abandonment, not in a report.

How the GDPR Cookies notice is set up

The notice is shown to first-time visitors and lets them accept or refuse tracking. These are the features that matter:

  • Your own text: you write the message, change the button text and decide whether or not to include a link to your privacy policy.
  • Appearance: you change the color, background and position of the notice, and can add basic visual animations. Several ready-made button styles are also available.
  • Acceptance on scroll: you can set cookies to be accepted automatically when the user scrolls a certain distance down the page.
  • Decision log: it records who accepts and who refuses, and you see it from the WordPress dashboard.
  • Cookie data management: you can search for a cookie by its unique ID and export or copy the data to review it outside your website.

What to know before buying it

It is an add-on for WooCommerce: it needs WooCommerce installed and active. Also, automatic acceptance on scroll is convenient, but it is not the same as clear, express consent, so think carefully about whether you want to enable it in a store that sells to the EU. And no notice plugin guarantees GDPR compliance on its own: it helps with one part, and the rest depends on how you use cookies and on your privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions about GDPR Cookies

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The design, content and options of the notice are managed from the settings.

Does it work without WooCommerce?

It is built as a WooCommerce extension, so the normal use is in a store with WooCommerce active.

Can I adapt it to my brand colors?

Yes: color, background, text, buttons and position can be changed.

Can it tell me how many people reject cookies?

Yes, it records who accepts and who refuses, and you can check it in the WordPress dashboard.

Is it available in Spanish?

The plugin interface is in English, but the text your customers see is written by you, in whichever language you want.

What to check in the demo before deciding

Test the notice on mobile: that is where a badly placed banner gets in the way most. Also check how it looks with your colors and whether the button text lets you be clear with store visitors.

Test the notice in an incognito window

Once activated, the notice only appears to first-time visitors, so if you look at it with your usual session you may not see it. Open the store in an incognito window to review the text, the buttons and the position just as a new customer will see them. Also check that the privacy policy link goes to a page that exists and is up to date.
