About GiveWP – Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform

When the donor gives once and never comes back

Building a donation form is the easy part. The hard part comes afterwards: receipts made by hand, spreadsheets with duplicated names and people who give once and vanish without anyone writing to them again.

In a nonprofit, what you really build is not the one-off donation but the relationship with the person who makes it. GiveWP starts from that idea: every gift, form and channel ends up gathered in one profile per donor, inside your own website, without handing that relationship over to someone else's platform.

Three organizations, three ways to use GiveWP

The small association that just needs to receive donations

You place a form on any page and build it with the visual builder. You can add custom fields to ask only for what you need: a dedication, a company name or a contact preference. The forms are designed for mobile, with Apple Pay, Google Pay and a text-to-give option.

The organization that wants recurring donors and members

Donors choose how often they give: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually. You can also set the frequency yourself. From their account they can change their payment method and pause or resume their donation, so you don't have to handle every change by email. Renewal receipts and confirmations go out on their own, and the reports show recurring revenue and each donor's value over time.

The cause with a community that wants to get involved

With peer-to-peer fundraising, each person gets their own page, a personal goal and buttons to share it by email and social media. You see each person's progress, total raised and reach. You can reward the best with public leaderboards and create team campaigns. At the overall campaign level, you set a target and show progress in real time.

Receipts, profiles and gateways: what happens after the click

  • Automatic PDF receipts, with your branding and dedications or tributes included, so donors get their proof of gift without manual work.
  • One profile per donor with all their gifts, forms and channels, plus tags, notes and segmentation to look after the relationship and personalize messages.
  • Covering fees: donors can choose to absorb the processing cost so more money reaches the cause.
  • Gateways: Stripe, PayPal and Square are included, and there are more than a dozen international gateways to accept donations from other countries in their currency.

Frequently asked questions about GiveWP

Is it good for a simple donate button?

Yes. You can start with a single form on one page and later grow into campaigns, recurring giving or peer-to-peer fundraising.

Can donors manage their own subscriptions?

Yes: they can update their payment method and pause or resume their recurring donation.

Can I ask for my own data in the form?

Yes, the builder lets you add custom fields to capture whatever information you need from each donor.

Can people donate from other countries?

Yes, through the international gateways and the option to accept the donor's own currency.

It needs a payment gateway and your own tax paperwork

GiveWP does not collect money by itself: funds go through an external gateway (Stripe, PayPal, Square or another), so you need your own account with it and must accept its terms. Receipts are a tool for generating proof of gift, but which data and requirements tax deductions demand in your country is something you have to check yourself.
