About Gogrin – Charity Foundation and Nonprofit WordPress Theme

Gogrin: a nonprofit website where donors don't get lost before donating

A small foundation often has a website with its mission in one long paragraph, loose photos and a donate button hidden in the menu. Someone who feels the urge to help loses it if they have to hunt for where to do it. Gogrin is a theme for foundations and nonprofit organizations that puts a Donate Now button on the home page, next to the causes, and also has its own donation page.

Donors don't only look at the mission, they look at whether the numbers make sense. A progress bar, a counter or an event with a past date tells them at a glance whether the organization is alive or abandoned. With this theme, that part is up to you.

Causes with progress bars, events and volunteers on the same home page

The demo splits its content into blocks designed to raise funds and to get people moving:

  • Causes (health, education, food, water), each with percentage reached, amount raised, goal and a donate button.
  • Upcoming events with date, time, address and a link to read more.
  • Calls to become a volunteer, with a volunteer team section and a link to a sign-up form.
  • Testimonials, services, gallery, blog, email newsletter, FAQ and contact, including an emergency phone number in the header.

For the layout you get several home pages (one of them with video, plus a landing page), a blog as a grid or with a sidebar on the left or right, and a portfolio in two column formats, useful for showing finished projects. There are also individual pages for team members and services.

Gogrin comes with sample texts and figures you must rewrite

What you see in the demo is mockup material, not content to publish. There is placeholder Latin text, famous quotes used as if they were testimonials, made-up names and job titles, news dated 2022, and sample addresses and phone numbers.

The riskiest part is the numbers: amounts raised, success percentages, counters of projects and people helped. If you leave them unchanged, you publish data that isn't yours, and for a nonprofit that is a reputation problem, not just a design one. Replace them with figures you can back up, or remove the block.

Also review the progress bar texts: you should check in the demo whether they update by themselves with the donations received or whether you maintain them.

Is Gogrin enough if your nonprofit has to collect donations online?

It depends on how you collect. Before deciding, this is what you should be clear about:

Does it take card or PayPal donations?

The demo's donation page shows preset amounts (10, 25, 50, 100 and 250 dollars, plus a custom amount), donor personal details and two methods: Test Donation and Offline Donation. No real payment gateway appears. If you need card, PayPal or another one, first check that your gateway works with the form.

Is it suitable for an organization that isn't a charity?

The structure (services, team, events, blog) can be adapted to other uses, but all the demo content revolves around causes, donations and volunteering. If you have none of that to tell, you will have to remove half of the home page.

Does it include pages for events and volunteers?

Yes: there is an events page with date, time and place, and sections and calls to recruit volunteers. Even so, check that the volunteer form collects the data you need.

Does it come in Spanish?

The demo is in English. You write your own site texts, but check in the demo that fixed buttons and labels (such as Donate Now or Read More) can be changed to your language.
