About GrandPrix – Motorcycle WordPress Theme
A motorcycle business is usually two businesses
On one side the shop: helmets, kit, spares, accessories. On the other the workshop: servicing, repairs, tuning. They share premises and customers, but online they work in completely different ways. The shop sells by itself; the workshop needs somebody to book.
GrandPrix covers the first one well. It is a WordPress theme for selling motorcycle and racing equipment, organising motorsport events and presenting biker clubs.
What it brings
- A WooCommerce shop, with several catalogue layouts, a dropdown cart and product listing shortcodes.
- Four configurable homepages and a good number of ready inner pages.
- Portfolio in masonry, gallery or slider, useful for builds and events.
- Post formats with gallery, video, audio and quote, for the content side.
- WPBakery Page Builder and Revolution Slider included.
What it does not bring and is worth knowing
There is no appointment system for the workshop. No diary, no time booking, no reminders. If half your business is service, that part has to be built with a separate booking plugin, and decided while planning the site.
And there is no search by make, model and year. This is the important warning for anyone selling spares. On motorcycles, as with cars, the customer is not searching for "brake pads": they are searching for the ones that fit their model and their year. A catalogue without that filter forces the customer to send an email asking whether it fits, and most do not send it.
For kit (helmets, gloves, boots, jackets) the problem does not exist, because there people search by size and brand. Which is why this theme fits an equipment shop very well and falls short on spares.
