About Gravity Perks Address Autocomplete
A delivery order, quote request or service booking form usually fails at the same point: the address field. A misspelled street, an invented postcode, a missing apartment number, and someone who abandons on mobile because typing five fields is tiring. Gravity Perks Address Autocomplete connects the Gravity Forms address fields with Google services, so a person types a few letters and picks their full address from a list.
If your business runs on distance, the address is pricing data
Anyone quoting removals, repairs, catering or deliveries knows a badly typed address doesn't just delay a shipment: it changes what the service costs. That is why this plugin goes beyond autocomplete and adds two new Gravity Forms fields, one for travel estimates and one for maps. Let's walk through a case: an on-site technical service that charges by travel distance.
Step 1: get a Google key before touching the form
Everything depends on a Google Cloud Platform API key. You have to enable three Google services in your project (Places API New, Routes API and Maps JavaScript API), create the key, restrict it and paste it into the plugin settings, under Forms » Settings » Autocomplete. The same key powers both autocomplete and route estimates. The key is also visible in the page source, which is why it should be restricted.
Step 2: turn on autocomplete with one checkbox
You add an address field, open its settings, go to the Perks section and check Enable Google Address Autocomplete. From then on the visitor types and selects. It works with the United States, Canadian and international address types, and on both desktop and mobile.
- Limited countries: if you only serve some countries, you can restrict results from the settings. The maximum is 5 countries because of a Google API limit. If you choose none, results come from anywhere in the world.
- United States and Canada: if the field uses one of those two types, the restriction is applied automatically.
Step 3: calculate distance and time with the travel estimate field in Gravity Perks Address Autocomplete
Add two address fields with autocomplete enabled (origin and destination) and a Travel Estimate field. In its settings you specify which is the origin and which the destination, the travel mode (for example driving or walking), whether you want distance, time or both, and the unit. The values come from Google and are available as merge tags, so you can use them in calculations, in dynamically populated fields or in notifications. That way the technician's travel can go straight into the form's price.
One limit to keep in mind: price calculations using those estimates require the form to have calculation logic; the plugin gives you the data, it does not build the rate for you.
Step 4: show the result on a map
The Map field shows an interactive map with a marker for the entered address or with the route between two points, and it updates when the person changes the address. It is fed by an address field or a travel estimate field. To adjust the map and the marker there are filters designed for developers, and the code is open.

Do I need Gravity Forms?
Yes. It is a Gravity Perks add-on and works on top of the Gravity Forms address fields, so it does not work on its own.
Can I copy the shipping address into the billing address?
Yes, by combining it with GP Copy Cat, another perk from the same family that copies addresses from one field to another.
Does it work for several countries at once?
Yes, up to 5 selected countries. With no selection, it accepts results from any country.
