About Gravity Perks Easy Passthrough
For people who chain Gravity Forms forms together, and not for anyone with a single form
Asking someone for the same details twice is the fastest way to lose them halfway through a process: name, email and company in the first form, and again in the second. Gravity Perks Easy Passthrough is for anyone with several Gravity Forms forms that make up a journey and who wants information to travel from one to the next without the visitor retyping it.
If you only have one standalone form, it adds nothing. And it does not work on its own: it is an add-on installed on top of Gravity Forms and part of the Gravity Perks family, so you need both running.
From form A to form B without hand-built parameters
The usual way to pass data between forms is to invent dynamic parameter names and tweak the confirmation address. Easy Passthrough replaces that work with a configuration inside the destination form: you pick the source form and map which field fills which. Fields that share the same name in both forms are selected automatically.
With that you can build, for example:
- Prefilled forms for returning users.
- Chained workflows where each step receives the data from the previous one.
- Follow-ups started by an administrator with the information already filled in.
- Approval or review flows that keep a single entry.
The token that lets data outlive the session
By default, Easy Passthrough uses the entry found in the current browsing session. If the person closes the browser and comes back the next day, that session is gone. That is what the Easy Passthrough Token is for: a secret key, unique to each entry, added as an ep_token parameter to a link in a confirmation or a notification. When the person opens that link, the entry is added to their session and the forms that use that source can make use of it.
Because the token cannot be guessed, a third party cannot try values to see other people's data. In addition, the data does not travel in an address full of parameters: the entry identifier is stored in the visitor's browser, which reduces the tampering risk that query strings carry.
Logged-in users and per-field rules
If you want a long-term journey without sending links, enable the option to use the last entry submitted by the logged-in user. That way, when they return, the form is filled with the last thing that person submitted to the source form, instead of the most recent entry in the session.
You can also decide what goes through and what does not. Each field is configured separately, and with conditional logic enabled only the entries that meet the criteria you define are transferred, just like with any Gravity Forms field. File upload fields, single or multiple, also support passthrough, including those using File Upload Pro.
Old entries, permissions and settings worth knowing about
If you already have saved entries and want to send links with a token for them, a separate process is needed, using a helper plugin that generates them in batches, which requires editing a file in that plugin and uploading it. It is not a single click.
Managing the configurations depends on Easy Passthrough's own permissions in WordPress roles. If an editor or manager does not see the tab, check their capabilities first.
For special cases there are code snippets available, for example to edit the passed-through entry instead of creating another one, or to update an entry on another form when the current one is submitted. That already involves a bit of coding.

Do I need Gravity Forms?
Yes. Easy Passthrough works on top of Gravity Forms and is no use with other form plugins.
Where is it configured?
In the settings of the form that receives the data, in the Easy Passthrough tab. There you choose the source form and map the fields.
Can data be passed through even if the person returns another day?
Yes, in two ways: with a link that carries the token, or with the logged-in user option, which retrieves their last entry.
Can I pass through only some entries?
Yes, with conditional logic in the configuration: only entries that meet the conditions are transferred.
Does it work for uploaded files?
Yes, it supports single and multiple upload fields, including those using File Upload Pro.
