Launching the website of an environmental organization often ends up as a site with plenty of mission and values and very little to show, or in weeks of fighting with the design when the team is three volunteers. GreenTech is a theme for business and project websites that aims to let you show what you do without needing a designer.
Visitors want facts, not statements
A potential member, a volunteer or a partner company arrives at an NGO website with one doubt: whether what you say really exists. Slogans don't settle it; a specific project with its own page and the voice of someone who took part does. That's why GreenTech is worth judging by how it organizes projects and testimonials, more than by its green look.
A walkthrough with GreenTech: from the demo to your first campaign
1. Import the demo
The one-click demo importer gives you the site with the structure you see in the preview, instead of a blank page. You just replace the content.
2. Set your identity
You upload your logo, change the colors of any element without touching code and choose from more than 800 Google Fonts. That way the site doesn't look like a cloned template.
3. Open with a featured content slider
The homepage supports a full-screen slider, lightweight and working on mobile. Use it for your active campaign, not for five messages at once.
4. Publish your projects
The portfolio relies on Jetpack: you need that plugin active to create and display projects. Every reforestation, cleanup or workshop becomes a portfolio entry.
5. Add testimonials
The theme includes testimonial support, useful for volunteers, beneficiaries or companies that have backed you. Ask for quotes with a name and context: an anonymous testimonial convinces little.
If you need to collect donations, plan for another plugin
GreenTech is built to show services and projects. It has no donation or membership system; check in the demo which call-to-action buttons it includes and, if you receive online contributions, plan for a dedicated plugin.
Free and PRO versions: where the difference shows
- The free version is set up manually only, with no demo importer.
- The free version has no portfolio or testimonials, exactly what matters most to an NGO.
- Custom font and color options belong to the PRO version.
- Infinite scroll is also exclusive to the PRO version.
For an organization that wants to showcase projects, the free version falls short.
