About Groundhogg - WPForms
If your forms are already in WPForms and contacts get lost in the inbox
A well-designed form is not worth much if what comes in ends up in a notification email that someone has to copy by hand. This connector is for those who already collect requests, quotes or contacts with WPForms and want every submission to create a contact in Groundhogg and start a follow-up without manual work.
It is not for you if you do not use Groundhogg as your CRM: the plugin does not work on its own, it is a bridge between the two. Both Groundhogg and WPForms must be installed. It also does not replace WPForms or add new fields: forms are still created and edited in WPForms.
What happens with Groundhogg - WPForms when someone submits a form
Once the connector is active, a new WPForms trigger appears in the Groundhogg flow editor. You choose the form you want to use, map its fields to the contact data and that is it. From then on, each submission can:
- Create the contact in Groundhogg.
- Start an automation flow, for example a follow-up sequence for someone who asked for a quote.
- Link the form entry to the contact record, so you can move easily from one to the other.
Form fields turned into useful data for your emails
Each field can be mapped to a standard contact field (name, email) or to custom metadata, so you can use that information in your emails later.
One practical detail: the more organized the form is, the easier the mapping will be. Before connecting, decide which fields will really be useful in your emails and which are unnecessary.
A more complete form than the one Groundhogg includes by default
Groundhogg includes its own form, but with this connector you can replace it with WPForms, which lets you start from scratch or from a template. If you already know WPForms well, you do not have to learn another builder just to capture contacts. WPForms can also be connected to other applications.

Does it work without Groundhogg?
No. It is a Groundhogg extension and needs that plugin active, as well as WPForms.
Do I have to rebuild my forms?
No. You pick a form that already exists and map its fields to the contact fields.
Can I store data other than name and email?
Yes, by mapping fields to custom contact metadata to use later in your emails.
Does it send the emails?
That is not its role. The connector creates the contact and starts the flow; emails and automation are managed in Groundhogg.
