About GymBase Gym Fitness WordPress Theme

A gym loses members when someone searches "what time is Thursday's yoga class?" and finds a scanned PDF or a phone nobody answers. A sports center's website is mostly used for three things: checking schedules, getting to know the trainers and working out whether joining is worth it.

From the class timetable to each trainer's profile

Imagine you open a crossfit and yoga center. The path with GymBase would look like this:

  • You create the classes: each session has a trainer, days of the week, a time and a description or tooltip. You can add as many events as you need, even overlapping ones (two rooms at the same time).
  • You publish the timetable: the built-in timetable displays everything in a schedule layout and supports filtering, so the yoga member doesn't have to read through the weights classes.
  • You link to each class: a template gathers them in an accordion on a single page, so visitors can compare class types, benefits, trainers and schedules. There is also a classic version, as a services list, and an individual page for each class.
  • You introduce the team: each class is assigned to a trainer, with a listing and a profile page of their own.

The limit is that the timetable is a table of classes: it is not a booking or capacity-control system. If you want members to reserve a spot, you will need a separate tool.

BMI and calorie calculators that give people a reason to come back

GymBase includes the Cost Calculator plugin, used to build calculation forms: body mass index, daily calorie needs, membership fee estimates or personal training packages. The demo comes with a BMI form and a calorie form ready to use, plus page templates for both.

You can connect Stripe to those forms for one-time payments or subscriptions (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or with custom intervals, such as every two weeks). You choose whether the customer goes straight to payment or receives a link by email. Note: you need your own Stripe account, and charging fees is a function of the form, not a member management system with sign-ups, cancellations and access control.

If you handle your clients' health data (weight, height), think about what you store: submitted calculations are saved in the database and can be viewed from the admin area.

Setting up GymBase without touching code: demo, builder and settings

You import the demo with one button from the options panel and get pages, posts, sliders and widgets already built. Then you change whatever you want with WPBakery Page Builder, which includes more than 50 elements, among them trainer lists, class lists and the timetable. Slider Revolution is included for headers.

In the options panel (Appearance menu) you adjust the logo, footer, sticky menu, contact form, colors and Google Fonts. There are ready-made templates for two home pages, trainers, a filterable multi-column gallery, membership pricing, two contact styles, shop, search and a 404 page.

Clothing and supplement shop with WooCommerce

If besides classes you sell t-shirts, drinks or equipment, GymBase integrates with WooCommerce and includes a shop archive template. WooCommerce is a separate plugin that you have to install and set up yourself.
