About Holity – Church & Religious WordPress theme WordPress Theme
For the local church that writes to its members instead of to someone who has never visited
A church website is usually written for people who already know the schedule, the pastor and the building. But the person opening it on a phone on a Thursday night does not know whether they can walk in, at what time, or whether they will be welcome. Holity is designed to answer that: where you are, when you meet, which groups exist and how to take the first step.
It fits you if:
- You are a local congregation that wants to present its vision, its ministries and its schedule.
- You want a clear call to join and a form to subscribe to an email newsletter.
- You need to show an address, phone number, opening hours and links to social networks.
It is not for you if you are looking for a church management system (members, attendance, offerings). If you need online donations, live-streamed services or a sermon library, check in the demo whether anything like that is there and, if not, plan on adding a separate plugin. Also, the names, addresses, phone numbers and 2020 dates in the demo are sample content: you need to replace all of them with your own.
Six ministries so every person can find their group
Holity's navigation hangs the ministries from a single menu: youth, transformation, family, women, men and children. It is a useful choice: visitors do not have to wonder whether the church has something for them, they see it in the menu.
In the demo, each ministry has a short text explaining its purpose. For example, the family one talks about pre-marriage courses and consultations for couples, and the women's one about helping women find their place in the family, the church and society. These are sample texts: change them to what your community actually does, because promising a course that does not exist is worse than not mentioning it.
Holity and the calendar: date, time and place where visitors look for them
The first thing a newcomer wants to know is when and where. Holity puts it on the homepage with a weekly meeting notice (in the demo, Thursday evenings) and an upcoming events block.
- Each event shows a title, date range, time, address and church name.
- A "view all" link leads to the full list.
- There is a dedicated events page in the main menu.
The calendar works like on any website: if the dates go stale, visitors conclude the church is inactive. Before publishing, delete the sample events and decide who will update them every week.
Mission, vision and the pastor's voice on the homepage
The homepage combines a welcome message with a "Join Us Now" button, a quote from the senior pastor, vision and mission blocks with a learn-more button, a locations section and a visit section with an address, phone number and opening hours.
The footer includes an email subscription, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and RSS icons, and links to contact, FAQ, privacy policy and terms of use. You have to write those legal pages and the subscription consent text yourself; the theme only reserves the place for them.
Questions before choosing Holity
Does it work for a community that is not Christian?
The demo is written with a Christian focus: it talks about Jesus and the Bible. The design can be adapted by changing texts and images, but it starts from that focus.
Can I have several locations?
The demo includes a locations section and a visit section with one address. If you have several locations, check in the demo how they are presented and whether that format is enough for you.
Does it include online donations?
If it is essential for you, plan on a specific plugin and check that it fits the design well.
Do I have to change the sample content?
Yes. The address, phone number, hours, pastor's name, dates and ministry texts are samples and have nothing to do with your church.
