Eight home pages and four headers to start from

It comes with 8 home pages, 4 header styles and one-click demo import. There are one-page and multipage versions, plus a demo for right-to-left writing.

The one-page version suits a single development or an agency with little content. The multipage version gives each service and project its own space. It is worth choosing before importing.

The design is mobile responsive and includes Slider Revolution, a filterable portfolio and Contact Form 7 compatibility. It is child theme compatible, so your code changes can live apart from the theme.

Houseland Options settings worth reviewing

The panel is under Appearance, Houseland Options, and is split like this:

• Logo: favicon, logo and their dimensions.
• Header and footer: the style of each, social icons, copyright text and a field for analytics or scripts.
• Pages: layout, sidebars and which pages act as search, archive, author and 404.
• Sidebars: unlimited widget areas.
• Typography: body and heading fonts, and their sizes.
• Clients: client images with an external link, useful to show who you have worked with.
• Import and export: settings backup and demo import.

An agency site, not a listings portal

Houseland's features include no property submission by agents or owners, no memberships or paid listings, and no connection to MLS or IDX feeds. Your team loads the properties from the WordPress dashboard.

Its features do not include contact management or client tracking either: a Contact Form 7 form collects the inquiry and the rest of the process stays outside the site.

Installing Houseland and loading its demo

Elementor comes with the theme. Before importing the demo, review these PHP values: memory_limit of 256 MB, max_execution_time and max_input_time of 3600, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize of 64M, and max_input_vars of 3000.

1. Upload houseland.zip by FTP, the recommended route, or from Appearance, Themes, and activate it.
2. Install the plugins the theme asks for.
3. Open the theme panel under Appearance, which may appear as Theme Options or Houseland Options, go to Utility, click Import Demo Settings and wait for the final message.
4. Assign the main menu under Appearance, Menus.
5. In Settings, Reading, set your home page and blog page.
6. Choose the search page in Page Settings, and start adding homes in Property.

Real estate themes focused on listings and agents

Houzez adds configurable search with distance radius, maps, an agent dashboard and contact management. Zoacres lets people submit properties from the public side and charges through memberships, with approval of each listing.

RealHomes is another theme for real estate agencies, with property pages and listings managed from the dashboard.
