The demo you fell for doesn't come with your photos
Choosing a multipurpose theme usually ends the same way: a gorgeous demo convinces you, you install it, and you discover that what you liked were photos, texts and sliders that aren't yours. Hundred & Three tries to shorten that leap: it comes with more than 20 homepage demos and suits corporate, personal, event, cafe, restaurant, blog, shop and portfolio websites. But the demo images are not included, so the real job is replacing someone else's content with your own.
A cafe website with Hundred & Three, step by step
Imagine you run a cafe and need to show the venue, the menu, a contact form and a newsletter. This would be the route:
- Pick a demo and import the content. You can import the demo content via XML or from a database. You start from pages already built instead of an empty canvas, but you will see gaps where the demo photos used to be.
- Swap texts and images. Pages are edited with WPBakery Page Builder and animated headers with Slider Revolution. If you already work with another builder, this theme isn't made for you: it relies on those two.
- Organize the structure. Header, footer, sidebar, content area and page title are customized from the theme settings. There are builders for carousels, galleries and portfolios to show the venue and the dishes, plus a 12-column grid that adapts to mobile.
- Give people a way to reach you. It includes integration with Contact Form 7, with field validation, and with MailChimp to collect subscribers. It is a contact form: not a booking or ordering system.
- Location and details. It integrates with Google Maps and Google Fonts, and gathers several icon families (almost 4,000 in total), some of them animated, plus modal windows and a collection of shortcodes.
- Sell, if you need to. It supports WooCommerce, but the catalog, cart and payments come from that plugin, not from the theme.
Questions before installing Hundred & Three
Do I need to know how to code?
No. It is handled with the visual builder and the theme settings. Even so, set aside time to replace all the demo content.
Can I have the site in several languages?
It is compatible with WPML, but WPML is a separate plugin that you will need to add yourself.
Can I modify it without losing my changes?
It is child theme ready, which is the right way to touch code without breaking the main theme.
Is it suitable for a large store?
It works with WooCommerce, but it is designed as a multipurpose theme. If your business is only the store, check in the demo that the product and cart layouts convince you.
On an old hosting it will only work as a blog
On an old hosting it only works as a blog theme: you will lose the rest of its features. Ask your provider before importing the demo, and remember that the more plugins you combine (builder, slider, forms, languages), the lighter the rest of your setup should be.
