About If-So Dynamic Content Plugin
The same homepage for someone who arrives searching and someone who already bought
A website with a single message treats the visitor who arrived from a very specific search the same as the customer coming back for the third time. Both see the same headline, the same button and the same banner, and some leave without finding what they expected.
If-So Dynamic Content changes or adds content depending on who is looking: location, behavior, device, logged-in status, user role, cookies, IP or the search term they arrived with. Whoever installs it is usually a business that already works hard to bring in visitors and discovers that the problem is not traffic, but that the page does not answer what each person came looking for.
A case with If-So Dynamic Content: the campaign that should greet people differently
Imagine a store with a landing page for a campaign. Here is how the process goes:
Step 1: choose what sets your visitors apart
It can be the country, the search term, whether they are logged in, a cookie, their role or a segment of your own (audiences). You can chain conditions into a sequence, and even let the visitor choose which content they want to see. If you segment with cookies, your cookie notice must reflect it.
Step 2: write what each group sees
Each condition carries its own version: a text, a block, a redirect, a pop-up, a countdown, a menu item or a CSS style change. There are five ways to place it: Trigger with a shortcode (works in any page builder), DKI shortcodes, a CSV sheet, Elementor (loads elements or sections only if the condition is met) and Gutenberg (blocks or groups of blocks).
Step 3: put visitor data inside the message
DKI shortcodes insert values into the text. For example, [ifsoDKI type="geo" show="country"] writes the name of the viewer's country. If you need thousands of variants (one per city or per product), the CSV file manages them all together.
Step 4: measure which version wins
You can test two to four variants of an element and see how many times each one was shown and how it affected conversion, with no third-party tools. Without that measurement, personalizing is just an opinion.
Common questions before setting up If-So Dynamic Content
Does it work with my page builder?
With any of them, through the Trigger shortcode. Elementor and Gutenberg also have direct integration.
Do I need to code?
No. You pick the condition and say what to show.
Does it get along with page caching?
It is compatible with it. Even so, check on your site that each version appears to the right group.
Does it connect with my store or course platform?
There are conditions based on interaction with other plugins: product added to the cart, membership level or course completion, among others. Check the integrations list to see that yours is there.
If-So changes what is shown, but you write the versions
The plugin decides who sees what; it does not write or design the variants. Before you start, keep in mind:
- Each segment needs its own message, and the more segments, the more content to maintain.
- Conditional redirects and pop-ups are useful, but avoid chaining so many that the visitor gets lost.
- Start with one or two conditions and an A/B test before multiplying versions.
