About Indeed Coming Soon

If your site isn't open yet and you want more than a «back soon» sign

Launching a website often means weeks in which visitors find a half-built page or a silent sign, and those visitors don't come back on their own. Indeed Coming Soon is for anyone preparing a launch or a major overhaul who wants the wait to be used to collect contacts.

It isn't what you're after if:

  • you want a page builder: this is a landing page with two layouts, not a free-form editor;
  • you need to sell or take bookings before opening: it includes a subscription form and a contact form, but no shop or bookings;
  • you want to send campaigns from the plugin itself: it only collects subscribers and passes them to the email platform you choose, and you send from there.

Keep editing while visitors watch the countdown

With the plugin active, you work on the site and the public sees the coming soon page. When you finish, a main enable/disable button opens the site. You don't need to deactivate the plugin, so it stays ready for the next major overhaul.

There are two layouts: one with a countdown and one with just the titles (up to four lines, with the font size adjusted automatically). The countdown comes in two styles, digits or circles. One tip: a date that passes without the site opening hurts trust, so set a realistic date or choose the layout without a countdown.

Color, image, video or slideshow backgrounds in Indeed Coming Soon

The first impression depends a lot on the background, and there is plenty to choose from:

  • solid color, still image or parallax image;
  • slideshow, with a special-effects variant;
  • video with sound and play and pause buttons;
  • patterns of dots, rectangles or diagonal lines;
  • background darkening from 0 to 100%.

There are also predefined color schemes that change the template with one click, and page transition effects such as fade, blind, drop or slide. Everything is responsive, but test video and slideshows on a phone before you call the page done.

The emails you collect go to your usual tool

The subscription form works with AJAX and connects with MailChimp, AWeber, MailPoet, Constant Contact, iContact, Campaign Monitor, Mailster, GetResponse and MadMimi. If you use none of them, you can keep a local email list. For the external platforms you need your own account or tool.

It also includes links to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Vk, Vimeo and Dribbble, a contact form with transparent fields and a popup for additional information.

Show the site only to certain roles or leave some pages open

You can decide which WordPress roles see the real site instead of the coming soon page, besides the administrator. For a client, they need a user with an allowed role.

If only part of the site must be hidden, mark which pages stay visible to everyone. That way you can keep a temporary site with Home, About and Contact. The menu also lets you turn individual pages on or off.

Questions before setting up the Indeed Coming Soon page

Can I hide only part of the site?

Yes. You choose the pages that stay open to everyone and the rest show the coming soon page.

Can my client see the finished site while the public sees the countdown?

Yes, if they have a WordPress user with a role you have granted access to.

Does it look good on mobile?

The page is responsive and designed for any device. Still, check video backgrounds on a real phone.

Do I need a MailChimp account or another platform?

To use those platforms, yes. If you'd rather not depend on any, the plugin can keep the emails in a local list.
