About Javenist
For the store with several product families, not the one-hero-product shop
A store that sells tools, accessories or organic goods at once often has a home page that doesn't know who it's talking to: the person looking for a drill doesn't want to see cosmetics, and the one who arrives for a deal doesn't want to click through ten menus. Javenist is built for that spread-out catalog, where the home page has to send each visitor to their category.
It is a theme for WooCommerce, aimed at digital, construction and organic stores. If you sell a single product or service, most of it will go unused: category tabs, mega menus and product sliders will have nothing to show. It is also not for anyone who wants a light site without supporting plugins (below you'll see which ones it needs).
Javenist sends customers to their category from the home page
The core piece is the category slider with tabs, combined with content blocks. Each category shows its products with a smooth effect and, on hover, the buttons for add to cart, wishlist and compare appear.
- Product sliders: new, featured, bestselling and most viewed, both on the home page and on category pages.
- Countdown timer: discounted products carry a sale label and a timer, useful for creating real urgency in promotions with an end date.
- Seven home page layouts: you can pick the one that best fits your type of catalog instead of forcing a generic one.
A vertical mega menu for long catalogs
The header combines a horizontal mega menu (blog, contact, about us) with a vertical menu of product categories, next to the wishlist and cart icons. When you have dozens of categories, that side menu does more for sales than any banner.
On the product page and the listings it offers what you'd expect from a WooCommerce store:
- Ajax cart and quick view.
- Image zoom and lightbox on the detail page.
- Grid or list view in the shop.
- Filters by size, color and material.
- Carousels for products and latest posts.
It needs Visual Composer and a handful of supporting plugins
Javenist doesn't work on its own. Headers and footers are built with Visual Composer, and the theme relies on these additional plugins:
- Mega Main Menu
- Revolution Slider
- Essential Grid
- Templatera
- Product compare and wishlist (optional)
- MailPoet, Mailchimp for WordPress and Contact Form 7
That means more pieces to maintain and more weight to watch on your hosting. In return, customization is broad: the Redux-powered panel lets you choose colors and Google fonts without code, there are color presets, boxed or full-width layout, sample backgrounds, unlimited sidebars on the left or right and its own 404 page. It supports WPML for stores in several languages.
It also includes contact, about and services pages, three blog layouts and post formats (audio, video, gallery, image), in case content is part of your strategy.
Questions before choosing Javenist
Can I start with sample content?
Yes, there is sample content so you can build the store from the demo and then replace it with your own.
Does it work for a store in several languages?
It is compatible with WPML, so you can translate the catalog and pages with that plugin.
Can I change colors and typography without touching code?
Yes: the options panel allows unlimited colors and Google fonts, and there are ready-made color presets.
Is it suitable for bookings or a multi-vendor marketplace?
It is a WooCommerce store theme with its own catalog. If you need bookings or several vendors, you would have to add specific plugins and check in the demo how they fit.
