A wedding triggers the same questions a hundred times
Where is the ceremony, what time does the party start, how do you get there from the airport, what should we give. Whoever builds their wedding website tends to think about the photos and forgets that visitors come for one specific piece of information, almost always from their phone and in a hurry. Jen+Ben is a wedding theme that puts those answers in a single path.
There is also a practical truth: this website has an expiry date. It is used heavily for a few months and then stays as a keepsake. That is why you want a design you can fill quickly with text and photos, not one that forces you to build page by page.
Jen+Ben walks through the wedding from top to bottom
The demo has these sections:
- Countdown in days, hours, minutes and seconds to the big day.
- Introduction of the couple, with a text from the bride about the groom and another from the groom about the bride.
- Event schedule (rehearsal, bachelor and bachelorette parties, reception, ceremony) with date, time and place.
- Photo gallery of the couple.
- RSVP, gift ideas and a guestbook with messages from friends.
- Groomsmen and maids of honor, and a blog with posts such as the proposal or tips for out-of-town guests.
Map, form and seven headers to adjust the site
Besides the wedding sections, the theme comes with a library of elements: map, contact form, countdown, accordions, tabs, toggles, video, audio, slider, testimonials and social sharing buttons. The accordion works very well for guests' doubts (lodging, dress code, kids).
For structure there are seven header styles, three footer styles, several blog layouts (classic, grid, masonry and justified, with a sidebar on the left, on the right or none) and a 404 page.
Is Jen+Ben enough, or do you need real guest management?
Jen+Ben is a presentation and information website, not a guest manager. If you need a list with tables, menus, plus-ones or email reminders, you will need another tool. The demo texts (names, church, dates, lorem ipsum) are filler and must be rewritten entirely.
Does it work for another kind of event?
The sections are designed for a wedding (couple, groomsmen, ceremony, gifts). You can reuse the design for another event, but you would have to rename or remove several of them.
Does the RSVP save the replies?
The demo shows an RSVP block with a button. Check in the demo how it collects replies before relying on it; the theme also includes a contact form element.
Can it count down the days left?
Yes, it includes a countdown timer with days, hours, minutes and seconds.
Can I post news for the guests?
Yes, it comes with blog layouts, so you can add posts, for example with travel tips or last-minute notices.
