About Jhon Doe – Contemporary Web Developer WordPress Theme

Your portfolio is the first proof of your work

People who build websites for a living often have a curious problem: they spend the day building sites for others, and their own stays half finished, with a «coming soon» that lasts years. And whoever evaluates you, a client or a recruiter, does not read your code: they open your site, test it on their phone and decide at a glance whether you can do what you say.

Jhon Doe is a WordPress theme for that case: the personal website of a front-end or full stack developer, on a single page that tells who you are, what you have done and how to reach you.

A page that follows the questions of whoever is evaluating you

The demo is ordered the way someone who does not know you asks questions:

  • Header with a message and a contact button: a headline about what you offer and a call to action so people can write to you without searching.
  • About me: an introduction text and a list of what you bring (websites that adapt to different devices, clean and functional design, a bridge between designers and developers, integration into a content management system).
  • Recent works: a grid of projects with a link to see them all.
  • Places of work: a list with company, role, dates and city.
  • Availability: a notice that you take freelance work and links to Behance, Dribbble, GitHub, Facebook, Instagram and email.

Jhon Doe and your work history: the block that is most often filled in badly

The list of companies is the easiest thing to copy as is: name, title and dates. But a client learns little from the fact that you passed through a big company; they care about what you solved yourself. Use that space for one result line per position. If you are just starting and have no such list, replace it with studies, personal projects or collaborations, because an empty or inflated work history is noticed right away.

The same goes for recent works: the demo presents them as a grid of sample projects. A pretty screenshot convinces less than a project with the problem, your role and a link to the live site.

The form, SEO and case studies are up to you

This is a personal presentation theme, not a complete client acquisition system. Before buying it, be clear about who covers what:

  • Already solved by the design: the structure of a portfolio page, the header with a call to action, the introduction block, the project grid, the work history and the links to social networks and email.
  • Content you write yourself: the texts, the screenshots, the link for each project and the detail of each job.
  • With another plugin or by hand: a contact form if you do not want to rely on email alone, search engine optimization, analytics and any internal pages you want to add.
  • With a professional, if you need one: any design change that moves away from the demo.

Check in the demo how it looks on your phone and what happens when you click each project before deciding.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work if I am not a developer?

The structure is that of a personal portfolio and may suit other profiles, but the texts, the GitHub and Behance links and the work history in the demo are a programmer's, and you will need to rewrite them.

Does it include a shop or a blog?

Do not expect a shopping cart. Shopping, Watches or Tracker appear in the demo as sample portfolio projects, not as a shop.

Can I change the sample content?

Yes, and you should: the projects, companies, dates and texts in the demo are samples and must be replaced with your own.

Does it work for a studio or an agency?

It is written in the first person, for an independent professional. For a team with several profiles and detailed services, you will need to adapt it quite a bit.
