About Kadence Blocks Pro
When every piece of the page comes from a different plugin
Building a site with the block editor often ends in a collage: one plugin for the slider, another for the modal, another for the video popup, another to list posts. Each has its own style, its own settings and its own way of breaking. Kadence Blocks Pro tries to avoid that: it adds advanced blocks and features inside the same Kadence block system, so you design them with the same controls.
Here is what almost nobody says: the expensive part of a website is not placing the first block, but keeping a hundred pages consistent when the client asks for changes. A plugin that makes you repeat by hand what could come from a field or a condition charges you in time later, not at installation. That is why the most valuable thing about Kadence Blocks Pro is not the flashy blocks, but what it saves you from duplicating.
Kadence Blocks Pro blocks to display content without leaving the editor
These are the blocks it adds on top of the free plugin and what they are for:
- Image Overlay: an image link with an overlaid title and subtitle.
- Video Popup: a thumbnail with overlay and hover effects that opens the video in a popup window. It works with local and external videos.
- Modal: a call to action button that opens a box with whatever content you want, with settings for overlay, animation, size and placement.
- Post Grid/Carousel and Portfolio Grid/Carousel: grids or carousels of posts, pages or custom post types, chosen one by one or by taxonomy. The portfolio one has a more image-heavy design.
- Product Carousel: a WooCommerce product carousel by category, on sale, best selling or hand-picked.
- Split Content, Advanced Slider and User Info: a two-column row with an image or video of adjustable width, sliders built in the editor, and a block that shows the logged-in user's gravatar, name and join date.
It also includes a Query Loop (Adv) block for advanced content queries and a Repeater block to display repeated custom fields.
Dynamic content, conditional display and your own fonts
This is where Kadence Blocks Pro stands apart from a simple block pack. Dynamic content lets you pull custom fields into blocks, and it is especially useful for Kadence Elements templates: you design once and the content changes according to the entry. Conditional display shows or hides row layout blocks and sections based on conditions you set in the block settings.
On the design side it adds custom icons (a single one or a full set), custom fonts or Adobe Fonts, animate on scroll to reveal content, and the premium design library with its starter sites. And if you need a tracking script on a single page or post, you can paste it from the editor tools without touching the theme code.
Deciding if Kadence Blocks Pro pays off when you already use the free plugin
Kadence Blocks Pro does not work alone: it is an extension, not a replacement, and it needs the free Kadence Blocks plugin installed and active. Everything also lives in the block editor, so it is no use if you build with another page builder. The product carousel assumes a store running WooCommerce. And some features, such as animate on scroll, also exist in another plugin of the Kadence family, so do not count them as exclusive.
Can I use it without the free Kadence Blocks plugin?
No. Pro extends the free plugin and does not replace it, so both must be active.
Do I need the Kadence theme?
It is not required: this is a block plugin. If you want to check how it fits with your theme, try it in the demo before deciding.
Can it replace a slider plugin?
For sliders built with blocks, yes: the Advanced Slider accepts blocks inside each slide. If your project depends on very specific effects from a particular plugin, compare first.
Is it worth it if I only want a modal?
Probably not. It pays off when you will use several features, such as dynamic content, conditions or the design library.
