About Kadence Conversions
A useful notice turns into a nuisance when it reaches the wrong person
Your welcome offer appears to someone who bought yesterday. The free shipping notice pops up for someone who already has the order in the cart. The newsletter is offered, for the third time, to someone who has closed it twice. The copy can be good and still be unwanted, because the failure lies in the list of who sees it.
That is why, when you set up notices on a website, the decision that matters most is who not to show them to. Kadence Conversions creates popups, slide-ins and banners with WordPress blocks, and its most extensive part is the set of conditions for showing or hiding each one: role, device, page, cart, campaign link and date.
Three formats, six triggers and a measurable goal
- Popup: covers the screen and focuses all the attention.
- Slide-in: enters from the left or right without covering the whole screen.
- Banner: sits at the top or bottom of the site.
- Unlimited items, blank or from starter templates for each format.
Each item has a single trigger, chosen from six: a delay in milliseconds, exit intent, scroll distance in pixels, end of content, page load, or a click on a custom link or button.
Each item can have a goal: a form submission or a button click. It works with Kadence Forms, most third-party forms and mailing list signup forms. When the goal is met, the item can close by itself.
With tracking turned on, the Conversions dashboard records total views, total conversions and conversion rate.
Filters that decide who sees it and when
- Pages: the whole site, individual pages, multiple rules and specific exclusions. With WooCommerce it reaches single products, categories, tags, product archives and product search; with The Events Calendar, events and their archives.
- Devices: for example desktop and tablet, without mobile.
- Visitors: include or exclude user roles, including those added by WooCommerce or LearnDash.
- Requests: URL parameters such as campaign UTM codes, referring domain, a specific cookie or a minimum of page views.
- WooCommerce cart: show based on the cart total, and show or hide based on which products it contains.
- Schedule: a date range, recurring times or both combined.
Limits to know before planning a campaign
It needs Kadence Blocks. The free plugin must be installed, and Conversions asks for it during installation if it is missing.
Roles only tell apart people who are logged in. An anonymous visitor cannot be matched to a role, so excluding customers only reaches those who signed in to their account.
Repeat control lives in cookies and is set item by item: it avoids showing an item again to someone who closed it or met the goal, but the cookie sits in each browser, and another device does not have it.
Exit intent is measured with the mouse. It is worth testing another trigger on touch screens. And test on your store what value the cart total condition expects before setting a threshold.
Your first notice, from install to measurement
WordPress with Kadence Blocks installed and, for store rules, WooCommerce. Then:
- Install and activate the plugin from the ZIP file.
- Go to the Conversions item list and click "Add New".
- Choose a format and start from a template or from scratch.
- Define the goal and turn on tracking.
- Set the exclusions first, then the trigger and repeat control.
Hustle and Shop Kit for capturing and selling
Hustle also creates popups and slide-ins with templates, and adds in-content embeds, social icons and email integrations; it does not need the Kadence ecosystem.
For offers inside the purchase, Kadence Shop Kit brings together upsells, cross-sells and order bumps in WooCommerce.
Kadence Blocks, cart and emails: three clarifications
Does it work without Kadence Blocks?
No. The free Kadence Blocks plugin must be installed on the site.
Can it be hidden if a product is already in the cart?
Yes. There is a condition that hides the item for the products you select.
Does it collect emails by itself?
The item holds the form and listens for its submission to count the goal. The signup depends on the form or email service you place inside.
