A surveying firm sells with projects, not adjectives
The people who hire a land survey, a laser scan or a tunnel study are usually a construction company, a government body or a public sector company. Before calling, they look for one thing: has this firm already done work like mine? A website with four generic paragraphs and a phone number does not answer that. Kyber is designed so a surveying and mapping consultancy can show its project portfolio and explain each service on its own page.
Projects and services with their own content type
The most useful part of Kyber for this sector is that it includes dedicated content types for Project and Service. You do not have to force blog posts to show a job or stuff everything into loose pages: each project and each service is managed separately, and you can dedicate one page to land surveys, another to GIS and mapping, another to engineering support, depending on what the firm offers.
- Page builders: it works with WPBakery Page Builder and with Elementor, which includes 14 custom widgets. You can choose which one to build your pages with.
- Demo importer: it loads the sample content in one click so you start from a ready-made structure.
- Theme options: color scheme settings, Google Fonts typography and logo height on mobile and tablet.
- Trust-building elements: shortcodes and widgets for clients, testimonials (with a category option), counters, progress bars and info boxes.
Adaptable to languages, screens and browsers
The design is responsive, ready for high resolution screens and supports right-to-left (RTL) writing. It is fully translatable and compatible with WPML, which matters if the consultancy works with clients in several countries. The footer supports multiple columns with widgets, and the theme is compatible with Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome and Edge.
Decide if Kyber suits you: forms, builder and other questions
Kyber is aimed at a very specific profile: surveying, engineering and mapping service companies. If your business is something else, you will have to rewrite almost all the demo content. As for forms, the theme is compatible with Contact Form 7, but that plugin is what creates the form: the theme does not include its own quote form or a booking system. Nor is it a store: it is a corporate website to present services and capture inquiries.
Do I have to use WPBakery or Elementor?
You can use either one. The demos for each are imported separately, so choose one from the start and do not mix builders on the same pages.
Is it good for showing finished jobs?
Yes, that is what the Project content types are for. Prepare photos, descriptions and data for each job beforehand, because that is where the value of the site lies.
Can it be translated?
Yes. It is translatable and compatible with WPML, and it also supports RTL.
Does it include maps or GIS viewers?
Check the demo for interactive maps or geographic data viewers before assuming you have that covered.
