About LENS – An Enjoyable Photography WordPress Theme
LENS is for the photographer who wants the image to lead, not for anyone after a busy shop window
A photography portfolio is judged by the weakest image on screen, not the best one. With fullscreen photos there is nowhere to hide a weak frame or a low-resolution file. LENS is built for people who accept that challenge: a flat, minimal design, plenty of room for the photography and little decoration around it.
Before you decide, keep these limits in mind:
- Video is not uploaded to the theme: you attach a YouTube or Vimeo link to a gallery image.
- For photos to look sharp on Retina screens, they must be uploaded at least 700 px wide.
- The contact page is designed for Contact Form 7 and Google Maps, so plan on that plugin if you want the form to work as in the demo.
- When you import the demo, its images are replaced with placeholders: you provide the visuals.
Fullscreen, full width or grid: how LENS sets the rhythm of your work
Every photo series tells a different story and LENS accepts that with different templates. The home page can be a full-width grid of thumbnails, a full-width slider or a fullscreen slider.
Portfolio projects are for work that needs text to explain itself. They come in three formats: full-width top slider, classic or right sidebar. The portfolio archive shows one photo per project in a full-width grid.
The blog as a shoot diary and the page that introduces who is behind the camera
LENS includes a journal with a masonry layout and a post page designed so the stories of your sessions take center stage. To introduce yourself there are two About pages: a studio one, with room for the team, the workflow and social profiles, and a personal one, for photographers who work alone or to give each team member their own space.
Your content is not tied to LENS
Galleries and projects are created with the PixTypes plugin, not with content types locked inside the theme. If you ever change design, you don't lose those galleries. It also comes with PixCodes, a visual shortcodes plugin in the editor: columns, rows, icons, buttons, progress bars, tabs, dividers, quotes and a grid with interactive sliders.
To get started, the one-click demo install sets up pages, posts, menus and sidebar widgets.
Typography, brand color and smooth transitions with LENS
From the theme options you choose among more than 600 Google Fonts and change the accent color to match your brand. Animated page transitions are part of the experience, and the design is responsive, with images that adapt all the way down to the phone.
If your audience is international, LENS is compatible with WPML, supports right-to-left writing and includes language files for English, German, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian and Portuguese. For social networks it brings a tweets widget, social icons with drag and drop ordering, meta tags for sharing and Flickr and Dribbble widgets.
Questions before choosing LENS
Can I mix photos and video?

Will I lose my galleries if I change theme?

Can I translate it?
Yes, it is compatible with WPML and includes language files for six languages.
