About Liker – WordPress Rating Plugin
Find out whether your content helps without relying on comments
Almost nobody leaves a comment to say an article helped them. Readers leave in silence, and you still don't know which pages answer questions and which ones need rewriting. Liker lets you collect ratings on your posts and pages so the reader can respond with a single click.
This is a content business (blog, glossary, help center, portfolio), and in that business traffic can be misleading: a heavily visited page may be the one that leaves the most people unsatisfied. A simple rating gives you a signal different from visits, and you get it without asking anyone for effort.
Three rating formats for three different questions
Liker offers three operating modes, and it pays to choose according to what you want to find out:
- Like / dislike: for a general opinion about an article.
- Yes / maybe / no: to ask whether the page solved the question, useful for documentation and help content.
- +1 button: for content where you only need to know what people like, with no negative vote.
All three follow an idea used by many large sites: measuring whether reference material is useful.
Settings without touching code
Configuration is done from the dashboard. You can change the text and button background colors, their number and position (there are five positions), and add a description from the WordPress editor. It includes 13 button styles and controls for padding, border and radius, plus options for the button text size.
Where to show it and where not to
There is an interface to enable or disable the plugin by category, specific pages, user roles and devices. That keeps a rating button off a contact page or a terms page, where it has no place. There are also shortcodes to display raw data: [liker-count] and [liker-rating].
Rating results, for analysis and SEO
Results can be seen both on the public side and in the admin area. Liker supports HTML markup for search engines and rich snippets, with compatibility with RankMath's Schema variables. It is compatible with Gutenberg and with page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, Divi and Beaver Builder. It is written in native JavaScript, without jQuery, and includes a .pot file for translation and support for RTL writing.
You do the analysis of the ratings yourself
Liker collects and displays votes, but it is not an analytics tool. Here is what it solves and what is left to you:
- Already solved: rating buttons, styles, positions, visibility rules, visible count and markup for search engines.
- You cover it: deciding what to do with the results, rewriting poorly rated articles and cross-checking votes against your visits in Google Analytics or similar.
- With another tool: asking for written feedback or the reasons behind a negative vote, for example with a form.
Nor should you expect rating markup to guarantee stars in Google results: that is up to the search engine, not the plugin. Check in the demo how the button looks with your theme.
